Title: Newbie Question
Post by: VonFrag on July 24, 2002, 10:43:17 PM
I downloaded AH today, loaded it and am thinking of opening an account. Now, my question. Should the graphics be so jumpy? As in the fusalage looking like it is sliding across the top of the wing, or the instrement panel jumping around so much that it makes accurate shooting difficult? It is not my frame rate, that is up around 68, what do you old timers think? :D

Have you overclocked your vieo card for other games. If so you may need to reset the internal and RAM clock again for Ah. Sounds like an overclocking issue.

The instrument panel is jumping around becuase your pulling your stick around and your head is getting whipped around inside the cockpit. You head moving around due to "G" forces is modeled in here. Along with allot of other things. You will get used to it after awhile.

LLB OUT!!!!!

That would explain it. It's just disconcerting to watch the gunsite skate from side to side. :)

See ya'll up there somewhere,

u'll get used to it after awhile , and if you adjust your head position  using the arrow keys then hit F 10 to set it . (also do the same with all your other views using the # pad combo's and F 10 ) this will help alot.  to survive in the main arena you also have to learn to make short burst shots  :D

Also, be aware that firing your guns will cause the airframe to vibrate.  This will cause your sight to vibrate as well.

Welcome to AH.

The reflector gunsight was designed so it would move with your head, so it always pointed to where your guns would fire.
When shooting just pay attention to the sight and ignore the "moving" cockpit.

After a while it will feel natural.

I use the headbob/panel vibration to let me know when I'm about to compress my P-51B.  Its not a bug - its a feature.
