Title: Gearing up for some skinning...
Post by: Dux on July 25, 2002, 11:39:55 AM
I can't wait for the new AHEdit. My list of skins to do...

1. P-38  Olive drab on top, light grey on bottom.
2. P-51D  new metal textures, but no blue anti-glare. Maybe a red-tailed Tuskeegee?
3. Mosquito nightfighter all black
4. I think I'd like to put more invasion stripes on different aircraft

Of course, specialized marking dependent on the map scenario.

Anyone else have schemes they're looking forward to?

ps. Superfly or Natedog... any hint as to what the resolution of the skins will be?

Oh come on Ben, you know what it is, the W/B/W/B/W five stripes on the C-47, used as identification during D-Day

D-Day and afterward, to give the grunts a more visible indicator that this was a friendly aircraft, not an enemy one, in an attempt to reduce the number of friendly-fire incidents from Allied ground units.

Didn't work real well; ground troops tend to figure that any plane that surprises them and looks hostile is hostile and will shoot at it. Fortunately, they're usually poor shots.
