Ok first of all if you are going to post here answers like: "why do you think I care about how do you feel" then please move away because this thread isnt for you. Thanks.
To the matter:
I dont know what happens with me or with AH... The thing is that what was the funniest entertaining thing for me only a couple of weeks ago is now for me a boring game...Maybe because I have had some personal troubles ,maybe because my stormy exit from JG2 (dont take me wrong I dont feel sorry about my leaving but still JG2 mattered a lot for me),maybe...who knows.
The thing is that now I go up and...well If I fight its okay...if I win its okay...if I die its okay...I dont matter. Because I,dont know why, have lost my interest...
I was a very competitive pilot not too long ago. Now I simply dont mind!...
What breaks me is that I DONT KNOW WHY!. AH is better now than 2 weeks ago. The community is the same, all that has made me laugh, yell, jump, shout, all what has made me happy last 5 months is just here...but I guess that its me.
I am sure many of you have noticed that I am very few time in MA lately. I still have a ladder duel to do since 5 days ago, but when I think "lets go to MA and see if F4UDOA (the challenged) is on", i simply dont feel in the mood...
I am very worried. What I used to love is not anymore like it was. And I still am wondering...why?.
and I dont know why.
Thanks for your reading...have to get this out from my chest... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

Its a hormone thing. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
Seriously, I think alot of us go through this from time to time. Usually, it helps to take a break for a couple weeks.
Come back, find some friends to fly with, dont take it too serious, fly for fun, ignore your score, and play it one day at a time.
I never check my score, dont care, just fly for fun with friends and I dont regret any of that at all.
Good luck on regaining your enthusiasm,
Dago

RAM, do you fish or bushwalk? Actually any break will do (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif).
Take a week away from the computer, get as far away as you can from it. Go camping, hiking or something, get some soul-time, cave-time, thinking time.
Philosophise a bit and maybe AH will fall into the right perspective for you.
Take this advice with a grain of salt, it might not work for you. It works for me though (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif).
Hope you get through the blues.
Cheers

You got the doldrums bro. Been thru it myself. Flying by yourself can get boring.
When I left WB's to come over here I flew by myself for a while, until I kidnapped some of my old squaddies from WB's (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) and started the old squad back up in here.
Had fun ever since. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Uhoh, I think I hear creamo coming. He's gonna rip you apart on this one. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Why do you think I care about how do you feel? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
Do your duel, then give yourself a break for a couple of weeks. If you have any rush hour traffic near you in spain, get in your car, and put yourself in it. Nothing makes me yearn for a trigger to pull more than sitting in rush hour! Usually hop right on and kill stuff as soon as I get home! Oh, and don't take a real gun with you or it may quell the need before you get back to AH...good luck! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

It happens to all of us RAM. Try taking a couple days off. Also try flying a different plane that you've never used before. You may find that you enjoy it more than your old ride. Ever flown the 205? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) The jug is also a fine ride and is much like the 190 in many ways. Once you fly with .50s you'll never want cannons again; kills are just so much more enjoyable if it takes a little bit of effort to set up a clean shot. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
The best advice I can give you is to forget your score (it doesn't make any difference being ranked 1 or 1000 ) and do whatever you want to do.

Only way I can shoot you down. Dunno if would work for you....sure will work for me (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif).
Seriously, take a break.

RAM,
Don't worry. I'm kinda in one of those flight-sim depressions myself right now. But the thing is, it'll wear off in about a week, or so. Trust me (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Just go away from AH for awhile, and do other things. Or, just get on maybe once or twice a week. Before too long the itch will come back (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Sounds like a typical case of "burnout"
I went through same thing about v1.2...
Figured I'd give tanks a good run....
surprisingly I've gotten pretty fair in them..
But a break of a week or two sounds in order... give it time..

Do what I do, I go and fly Warbirds Head to Head for a few days...then I come back..cures everything! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
I *do* miss those Scenario lites, historical arena's, etc. but these local boys have been doing real well with SEA arena, two big shows on Sunday this week-end(See Special Events BBS)

RAM,
I know exactly what the problem is.
You need to want to kill the enemy. I mean really want to. Like kind of hating the enemy. Not really but you know what I mean. Since there is no historic arena in AH yet and you have recently switched countries to fly with your former rivals you just don't have anyone to kill right now. Even dueling me (We are message board rivals I guess) doesn't have the same interest that it did because we now fly together. When I fly I usually look for Udie, Zigrat, Ripsnort or you in LW planes. It adds an extra incentive to flying to chase the Luftwabbles around.
So basically what you need is either a good rivalry or a Historic arena to fly in.

You'll have to look for a Knight F4U than in my case! <S> F4UDOA!

RAM, I haven't flown in a month. I took a complete month off and well I'm concerned that I really don't miss it "that" much.
I am a weak flying ACM pilot at best but I still liked getting into those really good fights, you know the ones where your sweating when your done... it seems those types of fights were all but obsolete so I took a break.
I think I’ll come back to the arena this weekend and see how it goes, otherwise I might be looking at waiting for the Navy before I come back.
Take a break….

It's pretty natural to get bored with a game after you play it way too much! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Ram;
Think how much more exciting the game will be after the Spit Mk XIV is introduced. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Not too long ago I was flying until 7am in fridays and weekends. now I dont feel like flying 10 minutes.
Mino, I stated my opinion about spitXIV in other threads. I wont put here anything about that.
To all the rest...I doubt that I am burn out of AH as I took some days free last week and the loss of interest was there when I returned...dunno if I will go away for a month or so, but I doubt that my interest in AH grows again doing that...
Anyway thanks for the input.

Hi RAM i lost interest in AH too.
Nothing than dogfight.
Only 2 bombers <ridiculous>
Only late war AC, and people interested only on Fw190D9 and SpitXIV and in the near future they will ask for an f16.
HTC did a great work in this version but nothing changed.
Bombers gunners are ultrapowered, ground veicle can kill you whit a 7.7mm when in c202 whit 2 12.7mm u damage nothing.
Think that this arcade situation must change asap.
I think we will see only late war AC for a lot of time and this mean nothing news.
sry guys but i'm very bored whit AH at this point (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

War wasn't necessarily fun. Flying for hours on end, boredom/frustration etc..
AH attempts to model a lot of aspects of war accurately. Unfortunately the last two are not outweighed with benefits that war would provide: benefits, congratulations, peer admiration, new equipment as a result of effort - basically a usuable roleplaying mechanism is needed.
Thus, boredome and frustration are all too common in AH with little reward. Flying 15 mins to die in 30 secs is no fun - especially when it means nothing to me (score = nothing really), or to my team/country. Even if the country does win the arena is reset like nothing happened..
I realized a couple of months ago that this is why I became bored with AH. I still played/payed though just to see if I could recindle my interest. Unfortunately this has not happened so I will be waiting either until new interesting equipment comes along, or a decent roleplaying system.
To give you an example how important roleplaying is - I used to play EQ for hours, just sitting there waiting for a spawn. Yes it was dull but there was always the fun factor, the fact that I knew I was improving my online persona.. gaining abilities or/and better equipment. There is none of that here.

That's a pretty good point.
The big king of the hill snowball fight just isn't compelling. The Knights tonight undertook a real, actual offensive, pressing into Rook space headed right for the base next to our HQ. They took A28, then A32 and Rooks... just didn't care.
There needs to be something obtainable to do, like press on with the war. I'm hoping the terrain editor may make some battlefields that are good to play. I live in the Rockies, and nobody sees the elevation transitions that are in AH. Those mountains are ridiculous. A1 is ridiculous.
It's difficult unless you run a mega-squad to actually run the table in AH and reset the war. So, nobody really cares. They are just looking for a good dogfight, as am I. Every time I let myself care about the ground war or the mob gang bang base after base mentality, I come away from the game really pissed off and frustrated.

Hi Ram,
Sounds like you need a squad to me. Dropping out of the squad life and becoming a "lone wolf" is very difficult. I get frustrated a lot because I don't seem to have a purpose sometimes (Apart from as Target Drone).
I have alway kept away from Squads mainly because I don't really get to fly enough anymore (1 long session Fri night/ Sat Mornings & perhaps 30 mins or so a few other nights). I'm seriously considering mailing a few "CO's" should my online time increase though.
I always enjoyed the Scenarios perhaps you should try a few of them. (I plan to again when time again permits).
