Imagine logging into new MT. you start off in a plain room at a specially designed "field". Perhaps on the walls there are charts showing basic . commands such as /.movexx etc.
Now bring up clipboard check missions available and choose one. you are now brought to that missions breifing. I know its like AW but a map at the front of the room would be nice. Just flip the Map rooms map on its side :).
You will allready be ably to see whos in the room on the voice range box.
Have your chinwag and when mission starts your flung straight into your aircraft just as it is now.
Some well implemented rooms can be real handy for herding walk-ons prior to events too, again its AW like but hey it worked!.
MAbye a rooms tab could be put on clipboard allowing you yo click say foyer, ops room, no.xx, toilet etc...

Yep I remember those days, the light switch, locking the briefing room door, raising hands . Worked well, would be a nice addition to this game .

Definately would enhance Aces High...
Also some of the most funny and memorable moments I had while playing AW occured in those briefing rooms... It also cut down on a lot of the unnecessary radio chatter on the " Country Channel" because people could talk and even handle questions by newbies in those briefing rooms...
Mission briefing was much easier and safe from spies... In those rooms you could screen out spies very easily....(He was the one in the black coat)
Most of the missions our squad plans in AH, the final details are held until in flight... too many missions have been thwarted by a waiting defense for it to be pure coincidence that the enemy just happened to be launching a raid from a previously unattended base...
I hope HiTech will give this some serious thought and consideration...

i wasn't taking the piss about the toliet,
in fact it would be good if you could write some crap (not in crap of course, lol) on the walls:)
wander if i can find a copy of AW some where, in fact i think my uncle has a copy

I really miss the old rooms of AW,AH would really benefit from a similar set up,the old Officer clubs were great fun, when not flying you could go to one of them and chat,or as I used them,to recruit.
Be great if we could have something along those lines, nothing wrong with borrowing ideas from old games to enhance AH. :)

particulary if they are dead game as well

yes the o'clubs and briefing rooms from Aw3 worked very well, would be a nice addition to AH

how about a chance of picking a hooker?:)

Add my vote. I think this would be a great addition to promote teamwork and community.
The HQ would be the obvious choice for this feature. Have it be the first base/room you enter upon logging in to the arena.

I posted some suggestions for the user interface in another thread.

Maybe, regarding the "spy issue", the informations about the own side in an "extended roster" (see link) should be visible only for squad members? Well, in the end it's a game! :)
I support the idea of briefing rooms.

Oedipus I completly disagree. :)
I think "realism" is good for the job in the cockpit.
All issues concerning preparation of flight or mission should be done in a "business application" ambiance.
Not the clipbaord format for setting up missions but an interface that uses the whole space of the screen and does't waste space for a useless clipboard background.
That means:
The whole mission is easily readable and manageable without the necessity of mouse clicks.
Same for hangar and roster.
Only thing that matters when not in flight is: easy approach and readability.
