Don't get your panties in a bunch; this isn't a plane sim but a naval dealio. However, it is WW2 so it's all good :D
The following shamelessly ripped from Blue's News (http://www.bluesnews.com):
New Hungarian developer Mithis Games sends along their announcement of Midway - Naval Battles, the working title of their sea-based 3D tactical/strategy game in development. The game is set in World War II and focuses on the changes in naval combat in that era by offering the player a variety of vessels and fleets to control throughout a campaign that allows him to rise to the rank of admiral. The press release has more details on the game's features and is accompanied by the first two screenshots. Mithis Games is comprised of developers that used to work on Imperium Galactica III: Genesis while at Philos Entertainment, and the development status of that title is currently uncertain.

Task Force 1942. Thats what it was called and it was a fun game :)

TF 1942 was a helluva fun game, given the very limited system requirements. It was also the cause of one of the funniest experiences I've ever had on an airplane.
In the early 90's I was flying a lot to Singapore and used to play TF42 for HOURS on my notebook. To log on, you needed info from the manual, which was this very official-looking thing titled something like "Imperial Japanese Navy Intelligence Assessment" with "TOP SECRET" stamped in big black letters on the front. Anyway, over the Pacific I got up to take a leak and was standing in line in front of the lavatory when the stewardess comes up with a worried look on her face and whispers "Sir, you accidentally left this on your seat". She then produces the game manual from under a napkin that she'd wrapped it in and passes it over to me like it was the plans for Desert Storm.
She seemed pretty put out when I told her that it was just a computer game manual, that I was just a corporate lawyer and that the "Imperial Japanese Navy" hadn't been called "Imperial" or even "Navy" for nearly 50 years. Still raises a chuckle whever I think of it.
