Include the Mission Arena ideas into the MA as an OPTION for those players that want to participate.
To provide the historical matchups, add the Option to the CT also.
I think automated missions and career stats would work well within the MA.
This would also eliminate the Mission Arena's drawback of diluting the player base with the addition of another Arena.

it's perhaps better to test the system with a limited number of user and some rules the MA don't have :)

Or how about a SYSTEM announcement inthe MA about 15 before a mission starts so that those in the MA can head over to the Mission Arena and join in.

Very good idea !
it's will be possible to "quake" (no offense intended) in the Ma and then jump to the Mission Arena

Sorry virage... but that just plain misses the point. Its not just missions... the MA already has those.
The automated missions would not work in the MA simply because the MA is always fluid and an automated system would have no idea where to begin/end. You'd have to have people set up the missions to account for that... basically what we have now.

I disagree. An automated system could find/use Strat targets, uncontested bases, and supply lines to Attack/defend. The MA doesn't evolve that quickly. Non-blinking bases or bases in sectors without activity could be used for example.

You can disagree all you want but it won't change the fact that the missions designed in the MA have to have a direct and immediate affect on gameplay in the MA. Ones set up in the new theater do not.
There is a big difference between instant gratification ala MA and what is being designed.

MA has plenty of generals already.
