Just picked up a great book on WW2 bomber gunner positions:
Gunner: An Illustrated History of World War II Aircraft Turrets and Gun Positions
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1550463322/qid=1028066466/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_1/102-1120582-0223327
It has some great pics of gunner positions and some great info also. Some things I noticed:
Ju88 7.92mm MG sticking thru right windscreen was a flexible mount....isn't in AH.
Typical pattern of 12 shots fired from US heavy bomber tail gun position on the ground was 35ft at a distance of 600! That's just a bit larger than the 1ft shot group modeled in AH. Waist guns were even worse....65ft pattern at 600.
This book has some great pics of the Me410 gunner position showing the layout of the dual reflector sights for each gun (Hint, hint:))

Could that be source of AH Bomber Gun wierdness?
