OK, those of you with more than one children, admit here in secrecy wich one of them you love more.
Even if its just a very tiny bit, there has to be one you love more than the others, because he/she has a cuter personality, or is smarter than the others, or more skilled...
So, wich one of your children do you love more, and why? Be honest, none of that "All the same!" crap.
Please post some pictures of your favorite kid, too.
If you just cant admit you love one more than the others, then tell us wich one you dislike the most, and why.
(all this inquiry randomly popped into my mind as I was thinking about the future, and family life)
-
Your dad told me he likes the other tardling in your family better... :D
-
Yes, admit it in secret on a public forum.;)
-
Because she is the only one i know of
here's my beautiful baby
:D
-
@BUG
She is really beautiful.
And in 14 years you will need a pumpgun to control all the boys who want to "see" her :D :D :D
-
awww beautiful kid.
But no one seems to anwser the original question. Most come to the thread to be smartasses.

That goes without saying.

Animal, do you have kids, or are you needing therapy for a long held but secret fear that your parents love your sibling(s) more than you? ;)
I have two girls, and love them both as intensely- not the same, but not one more than the other. Sorry, that is just how it is. Kids are individuals, and you love things about one the other just doesn't have in him/her.
-
I was reading a book called Ender's Game. The plot, in the future, you are not allowed to have more than two children. If you have a third, he is frowned upon by society. Thats not the main plot, but it made me think if its possible to love one child more than the other.
I dont have tardlets yet, but someday I will find out. Anyways, I have seen families in wich one son is a sweetheart, and the other has the heart of a jackal. Then I wonder how could a parent love them both equally.

Animal,
If you liked Enders Game there are 2 more books following the same saga. Speaker for the dead is one, I can't recall the title of the third. All were good reads.
Literacy, a curse I am gratefully afflicted with.
:D

Off Topic:
Thanks! I loved Ender's Game, but I was left wanting more on the end. There wasnt enough about his life after the war. Is Speaker for The Dead about the life of his brother and of the bugger queen?
-
Actually there are four.
Ender's Game
Speaker of the Dead
Xenocide
Children of the Mind
None of the follow-ons are as good though.
However OSC started some new ones based on other players of "Ender's Game". "Ender's Shadow", is the story of Bean and is actually pretty good. It occurs concurrently with "Ender's Game".

The sequal to "End's Shadow" is "Shadow of the Hegemon", which I just finished. Interesting idea behind it. What happens to the highly trained and intelligent, battle school kids after they are returned home after the war?
There is a movie in the works based on these books.

Rent the movie, Sophies Choice.

Watch "Doom Generation" while you're at it, and your recipe for a fantastic first date is complete!
Edit: My wife rented "Doom Generation", for us to watch, one night. I would have been quite content, to have never seen the movie. It was the saddest, most depressing and draining movie have ever seen. I will not make the same mistake with"Sophie's Choice". I know what the general plot is, and that is more then enough.

DAD!! So, you're going by "Animal" now eh? I can't believe
this! I always knew you loved my brother more! YOU
BASTARD! I hate you! I hate you! I'm glad Mom divorced
you and has full custody of me. I never want to see you
again! And what did the police tell you about asking
people for pictures of children!? I'm tellin' your probation
officer! You PERV!

I have 4, ages 28-19, youngest still at home.
Loving and liking someone are not the same. Almost every parent loves their child/children and the depth of that is very hard to quantify. The full depth is sometimes only apparent in times of trouble or difficulty.
Liking someone is alway easier when their actions are pleasing and meet with your approval.
-
It is an interesting question...I have a friend who hates to admit it but he does have a greater "love" for his first born. I cannot say the same...I have two boys 3 and 1.5 years old...love 'em both equally. Having said that though, their personalities have not truly come out yet...one may end up being a little "Finklestein toejam kid"....

Iron beat me to it:)
I have four myself (8-14yrs)....I've often told my kids that I will always love them no matter what they do to themselves or us as their parents, however, I may not like them very much at times.
Marrying and having children is the best thing I have ever done...it has true value ulike what I do for a living:)

Rude, some of us appreciate the job you do at Suzie's Adult Bookstore. After all, someone has to clean out the peep show booths.

I have 3.
because 4 would just be stupid.
-
Two boys, both pretty different individuals.
IMO:
"Love" is a permanent emotion I have towards them both. I do love them both equally, both the same. I always will.
"Like" is/can be a somewhat transitory emotion. I like them both differently and it is an emotion that varies.
YMMV.
-
two boys here
I love the one mowing the grass that day more than the one not :)
Animal, it is a retarded question, when you have kids, you'll see why
-
What Toad, Curval and Eagler said: How can one actually say that he "loves" one more than another? I suspect that person that Curval refers to is confusing the emotion love with admire. You can admire one more than the other (for accomplishments, etc.) but the love is more than likely equal...
How could I decide to love one more than the other of these two Propellor heads? :)
-
OK I don't hate them all. ....
Its just the damn things keep eating my food, wearing my socks and wanting to drive my car!
I don't know where I went wrong dammit! They just won't freakin LEAVE! Even the ones who have their own place keep coming back to eat my food! Any other animal would kill their young for that!
Then they bring in their own kids too! aaaaaahhhhhhhhgggggg!!
-
oh! didn't know we got to post pictures, 6 grandkids, warmin' up the scanner. :D
-
