Big ol sprawling stratus layer that covers much sky (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
-
oh and are clouds at lower altitudes in 1.03?
or multiple altitudes in the same area? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
-
You mean kind of like WB where there is a texture on the "ceiling" of the arena? I kind of like that.
-
Hmm...Yes,in addition to the 3-d traveling cumulus an additional high alt stratus layer.
Only a laymans hunch ,but I suspect a 2-d bitmap stratus layer would not be much of a system hit at all to add!And imagine the 'depth'it would add to the already very impressive new screenshot I've been oogling over!
Perhaps in the next...next release? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

I was thinking like Falcon 4's big stratus layer
-
Its actualy a big FPS hitter. Had it early on and removed it.

vv (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
seems like it hits fps in f4 too
-
HT - would it be possible to have stratus clouds as an option for high end machines? Possibly plug in some geoforce support or something similar ? The low-end machines could see "less perfect" stratus clouds.
-
haha I think even the basic 2d plane representing the stratus layer was the item causing the big fps hit.
-
Oh ok.. nevermind then
