When they blow up or come apart there aren't as many aircraft remains left floating down as one would imagine given thier size and mass  ;)

Although it pains me to agree with you...   :D

On that same line (of sorts), if you do bail, your aircraft disappears.  I know I'd much rather float down in my chute, and watch you sinister bastids put every bullet you airplane has into my bomber's dying carcass   :)  (Sure would distract the chute-shooters!)

Also, is it just me, but if the pilot is wounded, and you bail, not once have I passed out in the chute?

I would like to see explosions proportional to the fuel load and bombload.
Hit a Buff that is out of gas and bombs, and it just breaks up.
But, Hit a lanc just right with 100% gas and 14K of bombs and she makes a lingering 500' fireball and knocks your fighter around a bit if you are close!   :)
