What's the story With airfield vehicle hangers.  People have dumped over 20 rockets to destroy a vehicle hanger to no avail but a spity can knock it down in 2 passes with it's 20mm cannons.

howdy meddog,

I think it is possible to take down VHs with rockets.
I've been able to take down VHs with rockets and one pass of cannon fire with a typhoon.  (I'm such a lame pilot that I'm sure not all 8 rockets hit the hanger!)

(hmmm...come to think of it...how do i know it was actually my rockets that helped damaged the VH or if it was just the cannon fire?  
On second thought I have no direct evidence that rockets alone can destroy a VH!!  duh-oh!

I'm not sure how it is with the English ones, or the German WGr21s, but each American HVAR rocket is equivalent to 250lbs of bombs. 10 rockets knock out a VH at airfields, and 8 rockets knock out the VH at vehicle fields.

 If "people have dumped over 20 rockets to destroy a vehicle hanger to no avail but a spity can knock it down in 2 passes with it's 20mm cannons", that means probably about 8~9 of those 20 rockets hit, and the VH was very weak, and the Spitfire comes in and filled the required amount for destruction with strafing.

VHs at V fields only require 1,000lbs of bombs.  7 Allied rockets will also do it.

VHs at airfields require 2,500llbs to destroy.  20 rockets will not be enough, nor will a Spit's 20mm load.

bs I dont fly spits and dont care to much about how many hispanos it takes to kill a hanger but heres what it takes to strafe one flying lw planes

I know it's 8klbs. But I'd like to know the number of 30mm shells ;)
