There have been numerous accusations about bombers on this board in the last two weeks.
One repetitive statement is that the vast majority of players have their fun ruined by Bombers and would like them removed. I have seen no data to back this up so I would like to see some actual numbers. I did a brief, impromptu poll online a few days ago, but I would like something more solid.
Please state one of the following:
Remove bombers
Keep bombers
I will start with my vote:

I can't believe this is even being asked. This game would be boring as hell without bombers.
They should add another.. a troop transport with guns.. like ju52

I've said that. The reason I've said so have been posted in several threads.
Again as I explained in another thread and others have as well. My claim that most people like to furball over field capture, buffing etc is based on observation of how folks fly in the ma.
you can verify this by going into the main and look at what the majority of folks are doing. I have then concluded that bombers(minority) are in direct contrast to the type of gameplay that the majority of folks in the ma engage in.
All this was in response to a question posed by a buff pilot.
I dont know why in that thread you mis-defined the argument or why you start a thread here that repeats it.
Nobody but myself has called for buffs to be removed. And regardles of this poll you and I both know they wont be.
I'll repeat the answer given over and over and over.
The way buffs are currently portrayed in ah a single buff has far to great an impact on the type of play most folks in the main partake of
a more accurate poll would be to ask folks if they agree or disagree with that statement.
It was never question of anyone speaking for anybody or buff gun lethality or plane toughness or anything else.

Sorry to pop you're bubble, but this is pretty much directed at Laz. He has called for bombers to be removed and he has also repeatedly stated that most players would rather they weren't in the game.
There was no data on his claim so I decided to try to get some. The results of this and the informal poll I did online are the same.
Contrary to Laz's claims, very, very few people would prefer that the bombers were not in AH.

Bombers.....errmmmm....bomber s...<scratches head>....ah, you mean those artworks near relatives to sputniks in terms of ceiling, near relatives to Ta-152 in terms of manouvrability, near relatives to Enterprise (not the boat ;)) in terms of firepower?......ban, destroy, get rid, forbid, anihilate, deny them. We do not have such thing as a bomber modelled in AH, do we?
With regards to the question, of course yes, I would like to see bombers in this game. Lots of them, if possible. Buff riding is one of the most exciting experience in combat simulation. A successful Buff mission is as rewarding as a 9 kill streak in a Macci C.202. As far as I can tell, at least.

Keep the buffs in the CT.
If possible, fix the alt & unmanned guns issues, lower precision, increase bomb blast, then add new buffs...
Do whatever you want in the Main 'Furballomatic' Arena...(Flame suit on :p )

Oh then I mis read "numerous accusations". I took that to mean numerous people.
I also went back and reread most of the buff threads and haven't seen where lazs has claimed that most want buffs out of AH. I'll let him cut paste/argue his point. But as a matter of fact I did read where lazs stated he is speaking for no one but himself and that any claim he made much like myself is based on observation. Maybe I missed it somewhere.
You can understand though that the post you made in lepauls thread was of the same theme as this one, of course with out the poll.
It appeared to me that it was answered there by lazs aswell as myself.
I have read where Apache, laz and I have used the term "ruined" the fighter jock/majorities fun. So you can understand that when that particular phrase was reused in this post as long as "numerous accusations" I took that to imply to multiple persons.
Gie been away from AH about 5 days now but dont get your hopes up ,, I'll be back :)

Once upon a time I'd have wondered how someone could transform a clear discussion (well clear for some. Lepaul and Texace were definately confused) asking HTC to make bombardiering more realistic, into a simple black-or-white-only poll of "keep 'em or remove them." But not these days.

You mean the low altitude furballs?
If that is what people want to do, they can easily go to duelling arena or training arena and do their stuff without disturbing buffs.
One single fighter can easily distract several buffs if he has the patience to climb a bit!!! Quite many just dont seem to understand that fighters can fly above 10k ;) Instead sometimes 6 fighters chase 1 poor enemy fighter at deck while there are buffs to kill at 10-15k...
OF COURCE KEEP THE BUFFS!!! ...and give us some more.

Sure, and to keep everyone from getting confused, we need to have the name of the MA changed from Main Arena, to Buff Arena.

I have read the recent "discussion" re Buffs in AH and have been very dissapointed with a few (you know who you are)peoples comments claiming that we Buff drivers have spoiled their fun.
Im sorry but I didnt know that this game was called "Meaningless Endless Furballing High" and I didnt know that there were rules stating when a Buff could interrupt these furballs.
From what I can tell HT put Buffs in for a reason (to add some strategy ie Strategic Bombers) to stop people becoming bored by endless meaningless and worthless furballs over a field.
Can someone tell me how many .50cals does it takes to drop a hangar ? Get the point !
If there were no buffs we would only need 1 map and noone would ever win !
Is this what the Furball community want ?
Oh and HT would go bust cos it would be a crap game then not the EXCELLENT game it is and people would rather play WWII online (shudder).

karnak you say laz wants them removed completely? im not sure even laz truelly wants that.I think his problem was with 'how they are now' not if they were modeled correctly, then again it was laz! :) maybe he does want them all removed but i dont think HTC needed to see this thread to make up their minds on the subject.
99% want em in is my guess.

They are very imortant to any WW2 sim, and I feel they should be made more important in AH.
But I also feel the current implementation of bombers in AH should be revised.

Just make them more sensible, gunners that act like real gunners (no autotracking + precision accuracy from all guns) in real life gunners couldnt track a target outside their visual range.. In AH they do if 1 sees them.
Make gunners vulnerable to gunfire, spraying middle section of buff should kill some gunners...

this is really funny.. 'most' (what a dozen guys who read this bb?)say keep em but it still seems that any thread about em, "most" say "fix" em. fixing em seems to be everything from some gun "adjustments" to having full crews to making the bombs more realistic... I doubt that there are very many who like the fluffs as they are and with the impact on gameplay that they have now...
Most??? who knows.. It is easy to see trends in the MA tho without going out on a limb too much..... "Most" people seem to go where the action is and are not too happy when a lone attention starved no talent fluffer ruins takes a big dump in the sand of the playground, killing nothing but fighter hangers.... "most" move on to a new place to play...... "most" will forgo the "pleasure and excitement" of the tense areal actoin of climbing up to a buff to out game him and get the "kill" on his robot filled fluff.....
roight now... the fluffs are just that...fluff... no fun to kill and no fun to let live and easily the most disapointing aspect of gameplay...
I say fix em or get rid of em. I believe if they were fixed tho... the loosers who fly em now wouldn't get enough attention to continue. I also bet that their effect will be minimized some more in future versions..... It's just bad gameplay for so few to have so much affect on the fun of so many.
