I had the same problem initially, seem to have fixed it now though.
All I did was set my virtual memory back to windows control, and freed up an extra 100 odd meg of space on C:
Havent had the lockup prob since, so im guessing it's a memory allocation thing.
Allso...your addons folder.....is there much in it? I read somewhere that every .pbo in that folder requires 'memory' when the game is started, so the more addons you have, the more system intense the prog becomes.
What I did, was simply create another folder, not in OFP for all my addons, except the BIS ones......when I want 'em for something, I move the .pbo back. This allso seems to have helped a great deal.
however, all this is just me stumbling around in the dark, i dont really understand these damn computer thingies very well :)
Hope this is of some help anyway.
Blue
PS. I'm running it on a Celeron 733 with a herculies prophet II MX and 256mg RAM, so, your system should handle it no worries.

Ill try foooling around with that when i get home, though i dont really have anything in my addons folder and i think windows already manages my memory. maybe i'll just allocate like another 512mb to a swap file like i used to in win98

Yes, it's a memory hog for sure...
Thx for the Tip about the PBO's, I'll make that too (if I can remember which ones are the original Pbo's....)

Hmmm.
I've had no problems at all with OFP:R and I'm running almost the exact same setup as moose.....just a slightly faster CPU.
What graphics drivers you running Moose?

If i remember right i have the beta nvidia drivers loaded
I just bought that sound card to replace my Live because the Live was having issues with OFP, and yet sometimes with the new one the radio chatter gets all fubared every once in a while. Sheesh.

Beta nvidea drivers?
Junk em and download the latest detonator driver.
And there's a temporary fix for the SB-live! problems with OFP......whenever the sound goes crackly switch views (internal to external or vice versa) and then back again and it's all fixed.......until you get in another vehicle that is. If the crackly sound is coming from a vehicle you're not currently in then press ESC and immediately click continue and you'll be fixed......again, until the next vehicle trundles past.
