I recently built a custom computer for a friend who wanted windows 2000 as his op sys. For some reason..whenever i go to AH the video is screwed up totally {it flashes bight triangle shapes and looks like it is a result of being overclocked}. Here are the system specs...
Soltek SL-75DRV5 Purple Ray Version KT333 Via Apollo Chipset
Motherboard {latest version mobo and bios}
XP1700 AMD CPU {Not overclocked}
512mb Corsair XMS {Extreme} PC3000 DDR
AOPEN Geforce4 Ti4600 Video Card {29.42 detonator drivers}
{not overclocked}
60gb Maxtor Ata-133 Harddrive
SB Live 5.1 Soundcard {there are no SB live 5.1 issues
with this motherboard unlike other
via chipsets}
Windows 2000 Professional {lasted service packs installed}
This problem has really got me puzzled..i even tried the Geforce card in my system with 98SE thinking perhaps the card may be at fault but it works great! I strongly believe the problem is software related as all other programs work great with his system {including 3dMark2001 video and benchmarking}
I would appreciate any ideas and help resolving this problem..
its really got me stumped.

when you get the video (AH) screen uncheck (or check) disable pallette swaping..... try it, it stopped the 1960 style video for me... if thats what your getting...... Im using w2k pro and it works fine.....

Had same problem with an athlonXP and GF3.
Install Win2000 Service Pack 1. should fix it. (suggest doing SP2 while your at it)
Hope this helps
