Need to verify your age with a credit card to get a patch from Activision?

Where do these gifted people come from that dream up these schemes?

If you're not being charged, and the credit card info isn't being stored or saved, then why do they need it?

I normally don't buy stuff from Activision anyway.

Incidentally, what is "RTCW"?  What sort of trashy game are you playing instead of saving the world in "Aces High"?

Return to Castle Wolfenstein... I was hoping maybe it added something new or... well anything, but since they want me to supply CC info... ferget it.

Don't quite understand it, I understand age verification at a porno site... but a game patch????? It don't run independantly of the program, so obviously you own the program.... why exactly do you need to verify your age?

Makes no sense!

Well, here's a way off the wall reason.

Could the new patch check to see if your running a hacked ver of the game, report it back to Activision? They could then charge your CC for the game?

Like I said way off the wall. I'd have to believe most kids that have the game don't have CC acounts.

Yay!  Another reason not to buy crap from Activision.  I am so tired of having to register at web sites to download patches.

Why not just locate the patch on some 3rd-party website?
