DITTO :D :D :D

One nice thing about the ME262 as a perk plane is that it has 2 engines (as opposed to the Tempest). So no more 1 hit pings in yer engine and you lose your perk points cause you can't make it back to base.
-
Just wanted to be the first to say that the guns are way undermodeled, the FM has been deliberately downrated due to the "Allied Conspiracy" and one of the canopy framing bars is 1/16" too wide as well as .25 degrees off from the actual angle it should be.
:D
-
Gee Toad, thanks for bursting my bubble before I even get started :)
-
Major disapointment :( This is my third Online Flight Sim and it's always the Me-262 and not the Meteor.
OTOH, there not hard to kill :)
-
Toad, you never learn. You missed the pilot armor.
It is my impression that majority of 262s did not have it.
Fix the 262 6 view !

Never understimate HTC's ability to PORK twin engined planes.
'nuff said. ;) ;) :D :D
*gawd there goes my perkies!!*

Why are people Already puting the efforts of HTC down for what we have not even seen in realtime, nor had any basis for judgment... Comon now..
I think its aweseome that They are adding these aircraft... I espesially look forward to the LW aircraft. So the 262 is a HUGE! treat.. :) :D :)
I wonder How many PERK POINTS it will cost???

Well crap, you beat me too it, you and hristo both! I just aint fast enough :)
-
"nor had any basis for judgment"
I do have a basis for my statement. I fly it all the time in the MA ;)
-
They ain't even got it yet and Hristo's cryin about it... LOL!!
You guys crack me up... we gotta give Toad a freakin medal fer puttin bait like that out.. !
-
I envision a terribly perk expensive airframe.
Somewhere in the neighborhood of 700-1000 perks.
I DO NOT WANT to see a hundred of these things flying around in the main arena!
Hey! Wait a minute. that would be cool! hehe

Well, he wanted a whine, he got it now. A valid point about the pilot armor.
Browse your Me 262 pics. How many of them have the armored plate behind the pilot ?
Tnx Toad.
-
u can take the plate out if the silly jet get's a modified damage model... 1 ping .303 pilot death from d1.5, any aspect. :)
-
Toad, produce the data, I don't believe it!!!HTC would never make that kind of outlandish set of errors!!
BTW, PERK THE HURRI!!! NOW!! Clearly it looks overmodeled and it's HO ability has been spoken of on this BBS to the point it will make the chog look like a popsicle cat!!

Actually, Hristo, there's more to it than that.
I wanted to be FIRST with a new LW whine.
Not an easy thing to do, as you well know.
:D
-
Well, you should have done it right then.
Armor plate is the way to go ;).
-
It's a beautiful "Bird of Prey"!

King of dive and zoom !
-
Boooooooooooooring
Fly straight. Hope no one sees you. Rip them up with 30's.
Alternatively: dive. hope the enemy doesn't see you. Rip him up with 30's.
Or: Fly straight. The enemy sees you, extend for 10 miles, then come back. Repeat
Or even: Or: dive. The enemy sees you, slowly pull out of the dive, extend for 10 miles, then come back. Repeat.
Sure it's untouchable. But is it fun? :).
It'd kick the Meteor's arse any day btw :=)
-
I am no expert in the abilies of the ME262. However if its anything like what I have heard in the past, it cannot turn worth a chit. But I guess the 4x 30MM would be great for hunting buffs, if your willing to risk the perks. BTW what kind of fuel efficency do you think it will have? I mean about how many miles (IN AH) will it go on a Full tank without DT's, if they are even a option????
-
Range was greater than 109, and I think it could take 2 DTs.
-
'N look at those 7-11 BIG GULP cup holders behind the pilot!!!!!
;)
Awesome graphics HTC. Both the ME and the Hurri look fantastic.

Those aren't cupholders, those are speakers.

Had to go with what I knew would be popular LW whines. Admittedly, they are the old standbys. But there was a need for speed; only beat you by :46 as it was.
I could afford to let the esoteric stuff wait for a true professional.
:D
-
Well, you definitely are a talent.
Too bad you belong to the bright side which simply cannot whine.
BTW, anyone have a pic of 262 with pilot armor ? Hard to find, it seems.
-
You are far too kind.
I know I have no real talent as a whiner but it's nice of you to try and salve my feelings.
Guess I just wasn't born "LW" enough.
I know the "masters" when I read them though.
:D
-
I'll look. Was that a field mod or factory selectable option?
I do have a picture of a production P 47D-r11 with the waste gates altered in the field for much higher MAP which gave it greatly improved performance and a paddle blade prop.
;)

I could be wrong here, but isn't this the preferred method of the he-man, 109 Luftwaffle pilots? In the latest survery, 9 out of 10 Leather-wearing "real" cyber-pilots (read 109) preferred this method of "fun". :D
In the same survery in a follow-up question 8 out of 10 he-man, "real" cyber-pilots (read those who fly waffle irons in their leather pajamas, while making cute little putt-putt sounds) said only the really super-duper, highly skilled pixel pilots fly the planes with those little cross thingies on their skinny wings.
As an extra bonus question in this survey, these most talented of all pixel pushers said that the luftwaffles are getting the shaft in every sim ever made and every sim that will be made. This question had a surprising 10 out of 10. And in the best tradition of the oppressed called everyone else a chog/niki/spit/pony/c-47/ dweeb.
The only exceptions to this poll were the Assassins, they couldn't figure out how to fill it out. :)
Hmmm...maybe I should cut down on the caffiene. :)

Modesty is a sign of true master, Toad. You have any 262 pics, btw ? Wanna back me up on this ?
Westy, of all the pics of 262 I have, none of them has the armor plate. However, it exists on most of 262 drawings. So I conclude it was removed in the field.

In the same survery ....bla bla
Got me on it. It is the ultimate fun to fight a P51 the way he fights you ;).
Oh boy, how easy it will be. BnZ while eating a sandwich and talking to your wife. As you see an Allied opportunist dive on you, point nose down and smile ;).
Admire every Spit and his brother trying to dive after you and get them perkies.
Don't forget to unsquelch channel 1, you don't wanna miss that ;).

:D
...And the thing that makes this so called "luftwhining" real art is that the people flying allied planes NEVER EVER whine. In the history of this BBS there isn't a single whine posted which includes allied planes...

Hmmm...I've got 2 keepers on the stringer already, although Hristo has alot of hook marks, might have to throw him back :)
Cobra
A bad day fishing is better than a good day whining :)
-
Yes, I will never learn ;).
Damn good plane that 262. Annoyance is a weapon !
-
I'LL BEAT EVERY 262 IN MY HURRICANE 2S !!%
COME GET SOME !!!
-
Hristo,
No, I don't have any pictures of the -262, unless you count the one in the NASA museum in DC. Those are in an album around here somewhere.
I take a few pictures of Warbirds as I meet them "in person".
I don't have a single "coffee table" book of pictures by someone else. (I do get the "Ghosts" picture calendar every year... does that count?)
I don't have a huge reference library that lists every nut and bolt in every warbird, either. I leave this to the more..... ah, people with more leisure time than I have. :)
I just play the game. When it changes, I adapt. I really don't care what HTC adds or doesn't add...perks or doesn't perk....and I REALLY don't care if the canopy bracing is .25 degrees out of line. :D
Wmaker, here's a wager for you and I'll give you 10,000 to 1 odds:
Go back and add up all the "whine" posts since the board opened and sort by LW and Allied.
I'll wager there's more than 2 to 1 LW over Allied whines.
Game?
:D
-
I can't wait to know the cost of this bird in the CA (if it is set there)...but I doubt I will ever get enough perkies to fly it ;).
It is a BEAUTY, who did it? Natedog? or Superfly?...
Whoever he did, WTG, is the best looking plane in the set, second to the D9 only ;)
-
Meteor only saw action vs V1's, where it did OK. WWII Meteor had a top speed of just over 400Mph. 262 saw quite much action, it had a top speed of 540mph, guess that's why 262 and not Meteor ;)
-
Meteor I saw action against V-1s. Meteor III saw action over Germany, but by then the Luftwaffe had been defeated, and it saw virtualy no action against German aircraft.
The Meteor III, as used during the war, had a top speed of 490mph, though I don't doubt if HTC ever models one we will have the 410mph Meteor I.
-
I would have preferred the He162 or Meteor over the 262 but I don't mind too much, I'm for ANY new aircraft, allied or axis... :)
Regards

pssst! <loud whisper> Toad!?
I've never see a picture of an ME-262 production plane with Jato. But the early tail dragger prototypes were awfully smokey and I also think they tried rato to get it airborne faster until they finally struck on the idea of the tricycle landing gear.
Oh! And Armour Diecast models is coming out with a 1/48th scale metal diecast model of the ME-262 this fall!! I hope to collect more but I bought my first one through Bhodi a few weeks ago. Very happy customer and I'm quite impressed with the model itself. Here it is:

Gee, Westy... that first picture looks like an Me-262 with a big curvy pilot armor thing up behind the pilot's headrest.
What did you do, doctor the picture? :)
Or was that a "field mod" of the type that is acceptable as opposed the totally unacceptable ones like fitting a Paddle Blade prop to or modifying the wastegate on a P-47? :D
Gawd, I absolutely LIVE for the hypocrisy!
:D
Here's an idea.... PLAY THE GAME!
Was that too radical? Too "over the top"?
:D
Eidted for typos.

WHA... ?
5 pics with 3 showing the same plane with no unit markings ?
Other from very early prototoype with cockpit barely visible ?
And wreckage in wood ?
Both Westy and Toad have proved that Me 262 serial number 711 had the pilot armor !
Come on, if you are hooked on it, you gotta do better ;)

ROFL!
I shall adress these false accusations, and use short words so the allied opportunistic pigdogs have a chance of at least reading it out loud.
It is true that there is a contigency in ze awesome LW that flies the Runstang and the Run-Oh-Nine. Most of these are ex-allied drivers who've seen the dark. They continue on in their runstang fashion, and employ these weapons in a cowardly run-style. All TRUE LW types know that both the D9 and especially the G10 are most effective when they're flown with extreme aggression.
Then there are the A8, A5 and early 109 pilots. Too slow to run from anything except the earliest tb'ers, these pilot kill pigdogs by the hundreds, fighting their way out of the horde of allied dweebhicles.
And, the questionnaire the Assassins received was really unfair - the questions were put down (poorly spelled) on the latest issue of PlaySheep, with ewe tits comprising all the "o"'s. We tried, but were shaking too bad to get something jotted down.
Now where are those "ooooh, I am gonna make 1 pass and then run" allied sissyboys?
-
The one in the woods isn't wreckage. It's captured after the defeat.
As for the rest, it's all that a quick web-search turned up....and you said:
"BTW, anyone have a pic of 262 with pilot armor ? Hard to find, it seems.
Yes. :D
