Scary reading material. I wonder how much is true.

Unless and until its online revenue stream matures, the Company recognizes that it will likely not have sufficient cash resources to fund its operations through the end of 2002. The Company might not be able to close on any financing transaction necessary to fund ongoing operations. The Company does not have any current arrangements or commitments for any future financing. The Company might be required to obtain financing on terms that are not favorable to it and its shareholders. The Company received a going concern qualification on its December 31, 2001 audited financial statements.

If the Company is unable to obtain additional financing when needed, it may be required to shutdown, delay or scale back product development and marketing programs in order to meet its short-term cash requirements, which could have a material adverse effect on its business, financial condition and results of operations.

Let's face it.  Online flight sims are a niche market.  Fighter Ace has the ones looking for a quick shoot-em-up, and the number of "high-level" thinkers such as the Shillelaghs isn't big enough to support more than one intellectually-challenging flight sim at a time.

Its the same doom and gloom that every iEN quartly report shows.  Its easy to forget that people have been "predicting their immiment demise" for the last 2 years now.

I believe it's reached a point of change.

Previously IEN/WB was able to continue operations on the backs of WBII and it's faithful virtual pilots.  Things are changing due the fact that promises have not been lived up to with regards to WBIII development and coupled with a common perception that support from IEN is slow at best, people are taking a hard look at the company and it's sim.

IMO the company is betting on the upcoming release of the CD-Boxed version of the game for survival.  The recent graphics update to WBIII is, IMO, intended to 'grab' new customers.  Unfortunately if the game itself isn't updated and the price lowered for monthly fees, any new customers are unlikely to stay for long.  Even less likely to pay for a non-refundable 6 or 12 month 'plan'.

Oh No!

Does this mean we're gonna have a bunch of WB exiles moving in here, whining about the demise of their beloved flight sim home and picking fights with anyone who even hints that AW..er I mean AH is better anyway??

Funny thing is that all the former AW pilots are kicking arse on all the AH crowd now and most of us have only been here a few months. Give us a year or so and all you original AH wussies will be in GVs. Whimps.

It was very difficult for all of us AHers when you folks from AW came over. If this happens with WB, I recommend that Hitech first have the all of us complete Sensitivity Training followed by Diversity Training. It will make warfare so much nicer and friendlier. Maybe at the next Con we can all hold hands for a few rounds of Kum by ya, or Micheal Row the Boat Ashore.

:) and Kieran....LOL I remember the trusty little old Zebco 202 and ruining one catching a 10lb catfish when I was 8 years old.

I dont think many from WB would come over

They'd rather play Everquest then come to the dark side :)

Well as Elfie so eloquently pointed out, it would be fun to have so many lousey pile its show up at one time. Completely unlike the AW exodus that caused AH veterans to quake with fear and run for their Lalas and Nikis.

(cast over my line will ya!)

Oh no MT, I admit when AW went down and the pilots migrated here we sucked initaly. But if you look at who the best AH pilots are now you'll notice a steady migration of former AW pilots up the ranking ladder.

The main reason former AW pilots are superior is that AH was such a closed community due to its former prohibitive price tag. As far as players of a sim the AH community became inbred and, like any inbred community, deluted of talent. Luckily for you that WB is the only flight sim out there with even more of an inbred player base so I don't anticipate having these new players in the game will affect the way you play or your score. However, it'll be a blast for us former AW guys.

Oh, forgive my post in my thread.  I now understand that you are, in fact, at the very least an ass.  I guess if I got to know you I might be able to move you up the scale to 'no talent braggart'... give me some time.

and....

Urchin that was a really mean word to use on Elfie. You can hurt people's feelings like that. Please try to be more sensitive and kind. It will go a lot further in getting your point across. I am not posting for a little while now until I collect myself. :(

With the exception of a few freaks, the ladder board directly correlates to time spent flying, not skill.

No offense to the guys at the top, but there are quite a number of guys in the 500+ ranking that will kick your bellybutton if you're not paying very close attention.

Hell... look at Nash's rankings. I don't think he's been below 1000 in a year and he's extremely capable.

No doubt Sandman, but admit it- the seal clubbing so prophetized when AW went down was shortlived at best. Basically the AH community was so closed up at the time the average AH pilot wasn't used to flying against diverse styles of piloting skill. In short- You were inbred.

As fast as the AW pilots accended to the top of the AH food chain I expect the WB pilots to decend just as rapidly to the depths of inbred mediorcicy.

hehe, Elf has restocked the lake...

...but I can't resist. Give me your top-5 AW players. I would pit them easily against the likes of:

Drex
NathBDP
Citabria
Zigrat
Hblair

Honorable Mention: Torque, Fatty, Hristo, Hangtime, Cobra, Apache, AKDejaVu, Towd, Easymo and a few more that pop into mind...

THAT is a rumble worth watching!

Yup, true enough, but just how long does one have to be a subscriber to AH before one becomes an "inbred hilljack"?

what aw pilots are at the top?

Squad wise my squad was top 5 before aw and are top 5 now.

we were top 5 squad with 3 guys  we top 5 with 16.

As a matter a fact the top squads score wise in ah  have been pretty consistant with or without aw folks.

AW folks are ok I used to hate because they it seemed most were weirdos and freaks. :)

It will be interesting to see if the release of a boxed version of WBIII can save IEN.

Personally I think their $25 monthly price is too high for box buyers to stomach.
Title: ient financial reports
Post by: Kieran on August 16, 2002, 10:50:44 PM
Doubt that, Karnak. There isn't enough to distinguish WB from AH to make it worth the price difference IMHO. WWIIOL doesn't hurt WB mainly because its flight aspect is so terrible, but Target Rabaul is on the horizon, Il-2 is already here, and well... I kinda feel like WB's window of opportunity is sliding shut.

I wouldn't go that high, but the AW vets easily equal the WB vets in any event.  I'm not exactly sure what Elfie means by the "average" AH pilot.  I may have been here longer than most AW players, but AW still spawned me.  :)

An ancient sim created by the Chinese Mandarin Polygonists in the FuManChu dynasty. The ghosts of Old AW artifacts are rumoured to still wander the Flying Sim community to this very day in search of skill and decent graphics.

That hurts Kieran, I don't even get an un-honorable mention.

I hafta admit the ex-AW player % is prolly pretty high, many like myself did AW then transited to WB, before settling here after the break up of ICI/iMOL.

I think you've missed the point.  That's what makes the TW series a bit different from your average flight sim.

Target Berlin, Target Rabaul and Target Flanders are all player-produced projects and they use the same graphics engine as Target Korea.  It's not like duplicate work is being done.  The Target Korea team is not involved in the work going on on these player-produced projects, other than in a consulting role.

It's also extremely different in that Targetware is not a brick-and-mortar company.  Some things take longer than expected, but Targetware has the advantage of not depending on a huge cash flow to stay in operation.  (And I'll remind you that some brick and mortar companies have missed their ship dates by huge margins as well)
