Any tips on tank gunnery in AH? Or a site where I can find
some?
I'm starting to enjoy the ground war in AH, on those nights when
I just can't seem to win a dogfight for sh*t
;)
I'd like to know how some of these guys hit me from 2500'
out, with their 1st freakin shot!? when it takes
me at least 3 to bracket their distance from me.
Thanks in advance for anything,
-
Couple of tips.
Put mouse pointer tip in center of sight on ostwind. Move head up for MUCH better field of view.
Get elevation where possible, armour is MUCH thinner on top, plus makes you harder to hit.
Try to hit sides, back, top, anything but straight on frontal shots. Use smoke shells creatively, they have many handy uses.
Against light targets like M16 & M3 use HE instead of ap.

What does this do?
Good stuff!
Thanks Ghosth:)

Jump into an ostwind
You have sight in front of you with very limited field of view.
If you put your pointer in center of sight, then raise head position, mouse point comes up with you.
This leaves you head up, good field of view, use mouse pointer as aiming point, just don't move mouse!
Works very well for field defence with lots of planes buzzing you.
Also turn engine off so you can hear them coming.
Good hunting!

i'd like a little help with the pz gun.
zeroing in on target. how do i keep gun trained on target? esp. at longer ranges, my rounds don't seem to land at same spot twice in a row, while my opponent is dropping hit after hit on me...
whats up with that?
-
So long as you have the sight in the exact same place as when u fired the last shot it will land in the same place everytime... If there is any dispersion in PZ rounds its very very tiny...
I've never had this issue...
The recoil throws the sight off... less if you are firing to your 12 oclock
Was gonna post a pic showing the wind's affect on the PZ shells in AH.. but it looks as though it would be too small srry...

Before you fire that shot that you think will hit him, put your mouse curser right on him. Recoil will cause the pnzr to jump and may change the sight. If so just adjust till your mouse is back on him then fire again.
Like skurj said recoil is less if your pointing right at him. Shooting off to the side will cause much more recoil jump on the sight.

cool.
thanks for the advice, dudes

Love the mouse pointer tips Ghosth!
And thanks for the 12 0'clock point SKurj.
When using the head up position in the osti, how do you get your
head back to original (default) position so you can reset the
pointer on the sight the next time you spawn an osti?
TY again all,
-
HOME key Goose would be the simplest, and then hit your hat switch to send it back to heads up

Goose,
Just move your hat sw to any of your programmed positions then release it.

While in panzer to traverse to your intended target with the Main gun its faster and gives you a better field of view to go to top turret set your MG sights on target and when you swap back to main gun its already aligned with target.
Top turret 50 MG traverses a LOT faster than using the main gun.
-
rgr,
Thanks one and all!
I think I "saved head position" in the osti, and Ghosth
probably didn't mean for me to do that :(
-
another thing that helps when trying a real long shot in a panzer. hit f8, then key pad 8 to move your head position down, and again , use the mouse cursor:) .......this also works for the cruiser main guns :)
-
Good tip Stynger,
I could've used that thr other night in a shore batt tryin to hit a
carrier 18k out :o(

If your target is beyond the F8, key pad 8 limit try F8, key pad 8 then the down arrow.
