if you had yelled "Achtung Jabos" loud enough for him to hear, he might have paid enough attention to at least shoot at you

Where was this at Tracer?
I used to live in Houston and had the pleasure of driving down to Galveston once a month for work to do some inventory stuff at the UT med center down there. They have a pretty nice museum there (Lone Star Flight Museum). I was walking around there one day and the P47 they have (Tarheel Hal) had just landed after doing a check flight in preparation for a trip to Michigan for an air show. I walked out on the tarmac and had the pleasure of talking to this guy for over an hour about the plane and the museum in general. It was great. I signed up for the volunteer program down there, but unfortunately I ended up being transferred back to the DFW area before I had the chance to go thru orientation.

just last week a b24 and b17 flew by low level, they were at a nearby airport giving rides and such, at $350 for 30 minute flight was too much for me, but as i was playing soccer i almost let a person score a goal on me as i was looking up at them. was an awesome sight though:cool:

i guess thats what happens the collectors market for warbirds drive the prices sky high - 5 hours at MACH 0.83 in a 747 cheaper than 30 min at 180 knots in a B-17

Maybe, but not nearly as much fun. Sentimental Journey (B17) was in town last September. I Dropped the $350 clams for the ride, sat in the bombadiers position on the take-off (filmed it too!!) and it was worth every single cent. I was going to go again immediately after, but they didn't have enuf people yet for a full flight and I had to get back to work.
It was the best 350 dollars I ever spent, not counting the hooker I got in Amsterdam. Wait, did I type that out loud? :D
Just as a disclaimer, I have never been in Amsterdam, nor have I ever hired a hooker for "services". This disclaimer written in the rare event that my girlfriend should ever see these posts :)
