I bet it's a Compaq unreliant err Proliant....:p  The ones I have in our lab never seem to last very long before something breaks,  then again most of mine are prototypes anyway.

Not me.  Watched a nice sunset, got reacquainted with my friends and relatives, listened to some nice music. A nice respite from fighting the @$#%&^&% CTD bug.

One of the few nights i get to fly during the week that is grief-free. Because my wife's favorite show "Big Brother" is on.  Last night was a two hour special.  I was excited all day.  Thought i was going to fly for two hours without the interuptions of evil stares and snide remarks.

BBBUUUUTTTT      NOOOOOOOOO the game was not up.

Like getting stood up on a date with a super model.

God I hate it when that happens.

See I was betting the servers got that dag-nabbin crash to desktop bug too  :-)

Or, somewhere in the HTC server room, Pyro unknowingly yanked the extension cord  ;) (Recall in The Naked Gun 2, he cant defuse the bomb in time, so he runs, trips over an extension cord and the bomb is unplugged and stops? LOL)

AT&T and Verizon decided to play, "Wire, Wire, Where's the wire" with the connection last night.

You wouldn't believe the conversations I was having with AT&T.

Anywho, yes, the CT/TA/DA arenas will ping better, as the last remnants of AppLink customers are gone now.

Oh,..by the way,....Hi! Guys/Gals!  :D

Thanks guys.

Puck, you would not beleive the conversation I had with AT&T's top tier support person.

AT&T: I can loop the CSU.  Looks good, must be on your end.
Me:  How can you loop the CSU when the smart jack has no power?
AT&T:  No errors, looks good from here.
Me: No errors huh?  How about now?
AT&T:  Still looks good.
Me: Funny, I have pulled the smart jack from the cage
AT&T:  Odd,...but still loops good.
Me:  Do you know what a smart jack is?
AT&T:   Well, according to the build-out, you have a RJ-45X.
Me:  No, there is no extended jack.  We have a smart jack and this is a 4 wire build-out, not a HDSL build-out.
AT&T:  That is not what it says here.  .....Still loops good.
Me:  I do not know whose T1 you are messing with, but you might want to stop, or you are going to get more support calls from that client.
AT&T:  Well,...I need to check something.  Let me call you back.

That was about 9:30am yesterday.  Fianlly at about 1:00am this morning, Verizon figured out what the problem was.  I do not know what monkeys AT&T is hiring these days, but I have never dealt with such an incompetent moron in my life at that high of a level.

Gotta love this buiness.

Skuzzy I know exactly what you mean.

I have 4 T-1's here for the town I live in (very small resort town.. like 1500 people off-season.

It took over 9 months to get Qwest to install it.. they still didn't do it right (I had to rig some lines myself) and if I call the C.O., they can't figure out which circuits are mine, or if they work, or what they're for, or which number is which, etc.

on CSU's forget it.  I get the same thing "looks good on my end".  while I tell the idiot that the csu is in my hand without power.

AT&T isn't hiring.  It just buys out other companies and lays off the most expensive ones - and guess who was getting all of the promotions and pay raises during their careers.  Yep, the ones that knew what they were doing.

Gotta love life after deregulation.

Well Furious, I am just trying to find a job.  Apparently, my marketable skills are in low demand right now.

12 years marketing
22 years networking
20 years UNIX administration
9 years UNIX systems programmer
18 years C programming
7 years WEB site development

and sundry other tidbits.  It overlaps, so don't add it up and try to figure out my age. :D

Wlfgng, I hear ya.  Any of the big LEC's are pretty much the same.  They seem to like it that way for some reason.

You don't spend enough time in the Monistary.

Malaysian Monkeys on Crack.  The same ones that Broadwing hires.

Global Crossing hasn't provided us access for three months, but they're still sending us bills.  I get to pop the head of my (former) account rep like an over-ripe pimple tomorrow.  Should be in a perfect mood by the start of the TOD.

LOL....

I have an XO T-1 with a 50/50 voice data split....we kept dropping our voice and data...everything kept "testing" fine....till the over due bill hit about $ 8,000. Seems that was a magic number to tech support. finally tracked down a bad repeater.

No techie....No checkie

18 years C programming? really?  At one time c programmers were referred to as cnobs. Seems a term of respect now.
