Saw this in my local computer store for $10 USD. I don't recall seeing the title in a full box version and I could only find 1 review of it on the Internet.
Has anyone tried this sim and is it worth picking up?

Grab it GF,
Haad a bud who's a serious fan of Reno tell me it's authentic. It flys well, I got the demo. When a plane pulls in front of you, the turbulence and prop wash can send ya upside down at 50ft!
A fun feature I wish online sims had. I gotta gt to Reno this year.

Thanks, Braz. I recognized a couple of the airplanes featured in the box art: Dago Red, Miss USA, Bad Attitude and some other Sea Furies, to name a few. I liked the fact I could tweak the aircraft performance, kinda reminded me of NASCAR Racing by Papyrus, but with pylons instead of concrete walls.

Just make sure to turn Bob Hoover's voice comment's off,he'll drive you mad in about 5 min :)

wow - there is a bob hoover game !?!?! i read his auto-bio - good read...as $10 i'd bet it is a somewhat old game, no (my machine can't handle the graphics on the new games, can barely do AH)?
i'm there, dude

I played the demo, it was pretty boring. Graphics were pretty dated too. It's out there someplace if you want to download it first.

I picked it up at lunch and printed off the manual a few minutes ago. The snippets I read make this thing look very, very interesting. Lots of potential to modify the game, such replacing the announcer's voice, adding my own music, not to mention modifying the aircraft themselves based on the atmosphere and the track. Graphics look better than Aces High, according to the screen shots on the package. I'll know for certain when I get a chance to install it and fire it up. The manual was copyrighted September, 2001, and I figure the game was probably released six months or so after that.
According to the website http://www.xtremeairracing.com they are going to be releasing derivatives of the sim in various versions, including one called Xtreme Air Combat based on the manual used at Top Gun and a sim that looked eerily like "Secret Weapons Of the Luftwaffe".
The manual printed out to 148 pages and looks like a good read.
Tonight I'll have to get the wife to show me how to record Kenny Loggins' "Highway To The Danger Zone" and Queen's "One Vision" and "Princes Of The Universe" to .wav files so I can listen to them while I race! :)

Where did you get the demo of this game?
I looked and cant seem to find where to download it?

Never mind... Stupid me i didnt look at the right side of there website!

LOL!
Queen's "One Vision" stuck out in my mind in the 80's when I saw "Iron Eagle" Every Falcon sortie I fly has that music in the background :D
"And play the right damn music"
