Title: X45 with Dauzimmer drivers..calibration problem
Post by: Curval on August 23, 2002, 08:27:53 AM
After two nights of frustration I finally got the Dauzimmer drivers working with my Saitek X45.  Then, last night I was about to go to the HazardScript site to figue out how to set up my AH profile.  But, just before I did so (I was on Ron Hunt's page) I noticed there was a "Calibration Utility" availiable for the X45/X36.  Stupidly I figured I would do that first.

I read and followed the instructions exactly.  But, when I calibrated in the Game Controller properties I noticed that in the test of my stick afterwards there was a problem.  Hitting a button would immediately cause about 3-4 buttons to highlight.  The POV hat actually threw me back into Control Panel for some reason.

I then spent the next hour trying desparately to re-calibrate and fix it.

No luck
:(

Any suggestions?

My next step is going to be to remove the Dauzimmer drivers and re-install them..I just ran out of time last night.  Is this the right course of action?

Has anyone tried the new Saitek drivers for the X45 - the one that actually works with Win98..my OS currently?  If so, how are they?  Perhaps I should remove Dauzimmer drivers and go back to using Saitek software...although I am afraid to open that particular can-of-worms again.

Please advise...thanks.

Oh, I'm running XP.  I haven't tried the Win98 drivers on my computer, I had a bear of a time getting my X45 to work on Raubvogels computer with Win98.  His was doing the same thing yours is, with multiple buttons showing up as being 'pressed', even if I left the stick alone.

I think he downloaded some sort of USB update on his computer (and like every other update there was for Win98), and it started working ok.

Sorry I can't be more help.

Well, I had it working great until I tried to calibrate the damn thing.

I am going to remove the drivers entirely, and remove all entries in the registry and start from sratch.

Must have it done (and a profile made) before the TOD.

Wishful thinking?  ummm yea.:(
