Was interesting. Had some interviews with USAAF and RAF veterans, not all focused on Glen Miller.
The Glen Miller part was interesting too.

Yep...and the show that followed about the Confederate Air Force which highlited with the restoration of the B-17 "Texas Raiders"

I saw it in the guide, but the wife wanted to watch "American Idol" instead.

Didn't see the documentary, but did see "The Glenn Miller Story", a darn good movie. Especially liked the part where he continued conducting the band during a V-1 touchdown...with everyone else but the band running for cover.
His loss was a tragedy for the music world, and it's speculated how music would have evolved, had Glen Miller and other big band leaders survived WWII.

His plane drifted off course and into a bomb dump area where heavy bombers on aborted missions were cleared to drob thei bombs so they could land. Surface trafic was kept out of the area so the bombers could do so safely.
A Lancaster squadron was dumping their bombs after their mission was aborted due to their escort fighters being fogged in. Each Lanc had one 4,000lb cookie and bales of incendiries. The navigator said that he saw a Norseman go in after being hit by the bombs. The tail gunner also saw it go in. The Navigator was certain it was a Norseman, even though they were very rare in the European Theatre, because he trained at a Canadian base where Norsemen were common.
