Release Highlights:
Up to a 25% increase in performance
nView™ 2.0 multi-display technology increases productivity and provides the necessary tools to control the way users access and view applications.
NVRotate™ enabling image rotation on today’s advanced flat panel displays.
NVKeystone™ allows for real-time image correction on portable projectors and heads-up displays.
Digital Vibrance Control™ allows users to adjust color controls to achieve accurate, bright colors under all conditions.
New control panel streamlines user interface and enables faster and easier access to all video settings
Robust Channels enables higher faster performance and better stability for all applications through fail-safe paths in the drivers
CineFX Simulator allows developers to use Cg—“C for graphics”—to write complex shaders in a high level language faster and more easily than before.
NVIDIA’s patented Unified Driver Architecture (UDA) – supports all products in single a driver binary
But people around the web are reporting some nice results.
Gonna try them out, cya.

Thank you, Staga!

PopUp screens????
oh... http://www.kolumbus.fi/eero.muhonen/FS/Download.htm
works like a charm in XP and it's freeware.

Wow, the are awesome.
Using the same settings as in my bloom challenge thread (1600x1200x32bit 4xFSAA highest level of Direct 3D detail) I used to get around 2,300 3DMarks, and now I'm breaking the 3,000 numbers.
No bugs so far, definetly get these.
The only problem is the windows refresh rate problem. Riva Tuner wont work neither will Refresh Rate Fix. However there is an even better program out that will fix it. http://www.pagehosting.co.uk/rf/

Animal,,

Just download the .exe and run it, its a simple install wizard, you dont have to do anything complicated.

should work on all nvidia chip cards. GF3 and GF4 will probably
benifit more from them.
whels
-
Thanks, will try them when I get home from work.
-
er-animal, you mean you DONT have to do all that uninstall old drivers, enter registry remove all references to old drivers run detonator destroyer etc etc we're always told?
That would be nice!:D
-
Thanks Animal,
My 2001 3D score went up 700 to 11424.

What about us non-conformists still running win98? Anyone know how to get the latest drivers on a win98 machine?

Eagl, you fly Hi tech AC in the USAF, and you are still using an archaic OS like win 98? Get with the program!!:)
-
I rebooted today for the first time in 2 weeks, having played AH offline a few times, 2 versions of *cough*TK*cough*, and done any number of other tasks... Why should I abandon something that works in favor of something that is less secure and comes along with a whole bunch of other Micro$oft bulls**t like activation and their new and improved licensing schemes?
MS can eat my shorts, and if companies like Nvidia abandon people who aren't caught up in the OS of the week fad, they can find someone else to buy their crap.
edit: I almost forgot that if I went to winXP Home, I'd lose some network functionality and even with XP Pro I'd have to re-purchase a few utilities. No frigging way. XP would give me nothing but pretty fonts and 5 extra FPS playing Quake. Not a chance in hell I'll give Gates any money for what would amount to a significant downgrade.
-
Win2k, Eagl...don't do it for Micro$oft, do it for yourself. It's infinitely more stable than Win98.
SOB
-
eagl, Windows 2000
and you dont HAVE to pay for it ;)
*wink*
-
eagl--
Mirroring what SOB and the other knucklehead said. Win2K pro gives you a rock stable OS, without all the marketin g frills. It has been infinately more stable than win98.
-
Wow, with new drivers, i gained almost 1000 pts in 3dmark! Went from 10360 to 11251 !
-
I have a win2k license and it's running my firewall/gateway. I haven't put it on my gaming rig because "infinately more stable" just doesn't apply here. My computer simply doesn't hang often enough to be an issue, and I'm not sure everything I have and use will run under win2k, while I'm positive it works under win98.
Saitek X36 USB plus second analog stick/rudders work under win2k? Or are those problems only with XP? And security... I found out yesterday that even though I THOUGHT I'd disabled all servers on my win2k box, it's running a friggen MOTD, date/time, chargen, and a few other services.
I simply can't come up with any reasons to run anything other than win98 other than increasing stability from 99% to 99.5% (my win2k box has hung before, bad network drivers I think), and because some shortsighted companies are no longer creating win98 drivers.
Meanwhile, wineX and the other linux gaming efforts are creeping up on full directX emulation and some openGL games even run a bit faster under Linux...
I'm not sure what Nvidia's game is. Maybe Micro$oft is pressuring them into pushing winXP/2K. If so, they're simply positioning themselves as a vendor that doesn't offer hardware I can use. Pity, they make fast chips.

Hmmm
Anyone else locking up when they try alt tabbing from inside Aces High, to the desktop, then back?
-
My score went up to 11339 from 10644 with the 30.82s.
Asus A7N266-C
XP 1900+ OC to 1680 MHz (2012+ ;) )
MSI GeForce 4 Ti 4200 OC to 303.8 MHz core and 594 MHz mem
Thanks for the warning LePaul, I'll be sure not to try that.
-
Those dropped me from mid 10,000's down to 9100. Lots of crashes too. Back to the drawing board, nVidia...
-
texture are less "sharp" with this detonator
it help having better performances :)
-
Hmmm
Uninstall->reinstall mfr's drivers->uninstall->registry edit to complete uninstall->reinstall 40.41-> 11200 3DMarks.
Very strange but I'll take it.
I just hope this solves the instability too!
-
What Eagl said...Win98 works for me...why fix what isn't broken?
Suggestions?
Thorns

I just switched from Win98SE to WinXEhome. Wow. I didn't realise what I had been putting up with.
Well worth $99.
The new Dets are a good move on Nvidia's part. Even my GeForce2 GTS seems to have a new lease on life. Everything looks better. I havn't run MadOnion yet, or seen more FPS in AH, but the quality seems better... making me think I can wait until the Nvidia video card comes out... or until the Ati 9700 is cheaper...

Anyone else seeing the alt-tab crash?
I can alt tab OUT, I cant alt-tab back INTO the game tho.
Is this just me?
During climbout, I like to pop into the email folder, check yahoo messenger, etc

So , can these be used with Win98SE and a Geforce 3 or not? (New 2.0 ghz system with XPPRo doesn't come til friday :( )
-
It's not that nVidia, or other manufacturers for that matter, are "jumping on the OS of the week bandwagon." They are simply following good business practices. Windows 98 is a 4 year old piece of software. The entire 9x kernel has been phased out of existence with the release of Windows XP. Why continue to develop software for such a system?
