..then at least post pictures of women we can appreciate and respect.
She's quite possibly the only woman that could match John Wayne's on-screen presence, and certainly carried as much clout around the studio, too. What she did for film, and studio actresses in general, is immeasurable. She didn't introduce glamour to the screen, but she certainly made it worth the trouble to develop Technicolor. Her characters were strong yet feminine, and extremely desireable, a combination that no other actress has been able to match. Its my opinion that she influenced the scripts that were written, not just for her films but for the films that followed for generations afterwards, giving the female roles more depth and style whereas in earlier films the characters were simple eye-candy without much substance.
I consider her to be the First Lady of Hollywood.

So. I take it, you where really close to your mom, when you where a boy.

That's a great shot!
I was just entering puberty when I saw Sofia emerge from the Mediterranean in that yellow dress in "Boy On A Dolphin". After that, I was a sucker for Italian women.

Although I don't see why we need yet another thread containing pics of women :D , I certainly agree with gofaster. The Quiet Man is still one of my fav movies.
-
How about some genuine exotic beauty like a Cavewoman.
-
Sophia and Maureen are 2 of the greatest, but my favorite has always been Gene Tierney.
-
I rather like Ms. Bardot. She's a bit of a xenophobe it appears, but she is truly beautiful.

Hey Animal, you left off Angelina Jolie :) Crazy crazy crazy, but she did get my blood flowing in Hackers.

IMO, Audrey Hepburn is the most beautiful and classiest women ever to have lived.

cute as heck Thrawn.
comment on Canadian women.. it seems like that 'look' is prevalent up there in the great white north.
My ex roomie married his from Canada, looked similar.
He loved the 'mousey' look.

Our females don't grow as large as the American species, as it is hard to fine a good source of protien on the frozen tundra. We fear if Bush exploits the Alaskan oil fields more, our herds of women will deminish along with the Carabou.
:(

Another of my favs.... I mean does it get much better than this?

Change that to "actress" instead of woman and I'd have to agree.
Of course... she's no Tom Cruise

"Mousey look"? Nah, Canadian women come in all sorts of "looks". Like Pamela Anderson, Estella Warren, Natasha Henstridge, Neve Campbell, Carrie Ann Moss, Yasmeen Ghauri, Alannis Morrisette, Nelly Furtado, Shania Twain, etc etc...:D

I've worked with a couple of them. I've met a couple others. But overall, I'd say I have to meet about 2.5 billion more people.
There's a big difference between what is portrayed in movies and what is demonstrated on a day to day basis. I've met PhDs that had it all together... looks, smarts, families that they somehow still managed to be perfect mothers in. I'd rank them higher than Ms. Hepburn simply because I've seen these people when they weren't behind the cameras and without the makeup.

If you are referring to my post, that IS a picture of Jennifer Connelly, and quite a recent one, to be precise :)

She also made it acceptable for a woman to show her bellybutton on national television.
There's a reason why Annette Funicello didn't show hers in all of those "Frankie and Annette" beach movies. ;)

That was all a cover story regarding Annette. In reality her pubes ran all the way to her naval.
I really liked Barabara Eden though and remember watching I Dream of Jeannie after school.
-
mmmmmmm Barbera Eden... she KICKED Samatha's arse!!!!!
but how could all of you leave out the all-time BEST!
-
This is my favorite of all time. Mostly it's in her eyes.
