I love level bombing.
Let me share a couple tips with you tha may help.
1) calibrate for awhile. You do not need to calibrate near a field just calibrate for awhile. I like 20-25 seconds.
2) once calibrated, you CAN move the bombsight around (moving your plane as well) a small bit (read: SMALL) without throwing off accuracy too badly. Do NOT drop bombs while turning, but if you get close to a field and you find you are just a hair off, turn it a bit.
3) when turning in bombsite (not calibration mode) or when dropping, the big thing is to KEEP YOUR SPEED STEADY! I like to climb to about 23-25k in lancaster formations and use 2-3 grids to reach top speed.
a small hair change on your speed can throw your bombs miles off target. your speed should be more important than that a6m5b thats 5k below you.
I apologize if it has been mentioned somewhere before, but I hear alot of people saying the opposite of these things to newbies, and it bugs me.
Hope this helps in anyway.
P.S. With high lanc forms,, I can usually take out about 4 fighter hangers at large airfields. Do not tell me high lancs can not hit anything.
