I am sure many of you remember SKRBROFR (Rick Odle) formerly CO of the 27th Sentai, the 3rd AVG and pilot of 418RCAF.
It is with a sad heart that I inform you that Rick has
passed on August 29th at 4:57 p.m.
He is survived by his mother Susan Odle of California,
His wife Cecelia Odle in Texas,
Sons Justin and Steven in California, and
his Step Son Darren in Texas
I was advised of this sad news through John Cox, a close friend of Rick's. Rick near the end, thought to give Mr. Cox his access codes to our squadron bulletin board. It is remarkable to me, the bonds that are formed with squadron/country mates in this arena.
Mr. Cox wanted me to make sure everyone knows that Cecelia will be well taken care of. Rick did plan for the inevitable and Cecelia requests nothing of his friends, except they have one last drink in remembrance of Rick and the times that we all shared flying .

Salute SKRBROFR!! :(

It is a very sad day! One thing I have found during the past 2 1/2 years playing AH is that you all develop some wonderful and amazing relationships with squad/country mates. I have always been moved when any member of the AH community passes on but I've always dredded the thought of a squad mate passing on.
Salute to a pilot, SALUTE to a friend!

I served in WBs 27th Sentai with Skrbrofr (aka Rickod) and then served as XO for the 27th in its first incarnation in AH and later when it became the 3rd Pursuit AVG.
Very sad news indeed. Fair skies and tailwinds, Rick.

Gonna miss you Rick...:( :( :(
You were a great squad mate and even a better friend!...Was hoping to meet you at the AH Con but it was obviously not to be.
My thoughts and prayers go to you and your family.
Good bye my friend.
