Hey there. I want to make a little film with an embedded MP3, and I want to be able to make the video go along with the track if you know what I mean. Prefferably free, so any suggestions?

Bink and smacker are the best compressors ive found and they are simple to use and also free.
WW2ol uses bink for their films.
you can find it here:
http://www.radgametools.com
(usually) seems to be down at the moment though.
they are downloadable and are called radtools

Do I have to use Bink by itself or can I find the bink compression utility in Adobe Premiere?
The problem I am having is that I compress the AHF video with a Windows MPEG-4 Video Codec 2 and then use Premiere 6.0 to edit the film into the finished product. The problem is that Premiere does not seem to respond well to this MPEG 4 video...it is almost impossible to manipulate and edit.
However, if I just use straight uncompressed video from AHF then I can manipulate the video alot better in Premiere.
No matter what I do the lowest I have been able to get the file size is 50Meg's and that is just too dang much.
Any advice here?

premier should be able to re-compress the uncompressed video however you like.

i edit in an uncompressed film format first then i compress it with bink.

one is 9.5mb the other 8.5mb, both have music and are extremely long for the file size. You can make shorter films with higher definition but i think the level i used is perfectly adiquate.I have a much clearer version at 20mb but in order to reduce the size i compressed it several times more.
with binkyou can compress then compress again and again. Each time it gets a little grainier but it also gets smaller in size.
it also allows you to add music and compresses that too!.
great for a free programme!
simple to use and simple to get to grips with.I used the online manual only a few times, the rest was intuitive enough to just mess around with and learn.

btw you will need the bink player to veiw bink films but its commonly used by many people including the people who make the films for world war 2 online.
you can get bink easy, heres link to 1.2mb download.....
