Just a suggesation a flight around the MA,CT,or SEA on 9/11 starting around 6pm pac time. Formation from all countrys no fighting etc etc. If done in the CT or SEA suggest baltic map take off from island bases for quick form up. Just my thoughts what do you think?

I think its a GREAT idea! Unfotunately I'll be working during that time. My thoughts will be there with all. It would be a GREAT honor to be part of such a flight. Hopefully the support will be their. >>>S<<<

US pilots at one field, Aussie Canuck Brit and who ever at seperate surrounding fields each country orientated to form on US pilots at a designated RV.
Symbolising a world coming together behind a US led fight?
Worthy? or not?

Great idea
I hope that it works and people can stop the furballin for 2 sec

I smell a MA mega-warp in the making :D
I think I'll just watch TV to remind me of why I hope the US is gonna do a rememberance fireworks display.... over Saddam.

Sounds a great idea... unfortunately it will be 2am here in the UK, so I doubt I will be able to make it, as I have to be up for work 5 hours later... hope it comes off OK and goes well.

I would do it...unfortunatly i dont have subscription so i wont be able to :(
-
Neat idea. I guess
Ive always had a reluctant attitude towards mixing genuine real life issues/events (like deaths and car crashes) with "lets have fun pretend killing" games like AH. I will pass on any sort of "in-game" tribute with respect.
:)

same here. I play AH to escape the day to day.
However, it wouldn't be mandantory or anything :)

We did many of these memorial flights in AW, and they never failed to be touching. I'd participate.
One of my favorites was a tribute to a squadmates Father who passed. He was a crewman on B-24's, so we all upped bombers. At a given signal we all dropped our ordinance and it sounded like the 4th of July.
Some of us sentimental fools like this symbolism. If you feel it is wrong thats OK, but please try not to rain on the parade.
-
I would participate.

I participated when a player passed away.
I could opt out of the 9-11 thing (that was my point).
if some feel the need than by all means proceed.
For myself, I'd pass. It's time to move on IMO.

I hate to be a wet blanket, but this is just another example of slacktivism.
Slacktivism is kinda like 'everyone turn your headlights on during 9-11 to symbolize' etc.
No real effort is required, just a couple minutes flying different in a video game.
If you want to do something special (and you are in the US), examine how you feel about this country and determine if it you feel strongly enough about it to put up a flag. I'm not saying it will cure hunger or cause world peace, but it seems that it would be someone more meaningful.
Please note, I'm not just saying 'put up a flag'. Only do it if, on reflection, you realize that you feel strongly enough about this country to do so.
People in other countries can probably find similar things to do that are appropriate for them, but in the grand scheme of things, 20 people flying their virtual airplanes together for 15 minutes (with the associated firefights that will start when newbies/jerks show up) is really not that big of a deal.

I suggest that you hold it in the Sea arena at a specific time . dont use the main .... (We held these things in FA all the time and the lag /warp was always terriable )
-
So if this flight will have players from all three countries, what happens when the destination is reached, will it just turn into a big furball? Will bishops be forced to fly out in front, just in case someone gets a bit trigger happy? :)
-
I will be there...This will be the most memorable of all fly-byes I would guess.
-
I haven't been flying much lately so it probably won't be an issue for me. However, I do tend to agree with Yeager and Chairboy. What does it prove? I too have participated in memorial flights, most recently for a squaddie who died young. I was left with an empty feeling about how meaningless our tribute was in comparison to this individual's real worth as a human being.
I would second the suggestion that those who wish to do this request the use of the SEA otherwise you're going to have squabbling between participants and non-participants totally demeaning the whole thing.
Respectfully

i agree with Chairboy, but the heart of the idea was in the right place i guess.
