SOOOO beautifull!

BTW I always thought the tailwheel at the K4 was retractable but I'm surely wrong here?

S!

It depends..for example many G-6's had the tall tailwheel, same as in the K-4. Late war production must have been a mess with dozens of variants...

Beautiful model...

However the ability to make such modifications and the FM mods a bit earlier ruined WW2 Fighters online play over two years ago, you could not control the cheaters.

THe K-4 used two kind of tailwheels : the tall one and the small one (quite rare), but both were retractable

In reality the K-4 was a dog (especially at high altititude) and was not a favored ride. In one instance it killed 2 pilots on 1 hop due to handling/canopy iceing problems.

Why would a plane specifically designed for high-alt performance be a "dog"?

The 109 was not designed from scratch for high-alt performance.
Neither was it designed to take so much power as was stuffed into it. That's why.:D
