The Iraqi Ambassador to the UN has just finished giving a speech, and walks out into the lobby where he meets President Bush. They shake hands and as they walk the Iraqi says, "You know, I have just one question about what I have seen in America."
President Bush says "Well, your Excellency, anything I can do to help you, I will do."
The Iraqi whispers, "My son watches this show 'StarTrek' and in it there are Russians and Blacks and Whites and Asians and Jews, but never any Iraqis. He is very upset. He doesn't understand why there are never any Iraqis in 'Star Trek.'"
President Bush chuckles and leans toward the Iraqi, and whispers back, "It's because it takes place in the future."

So in the future, all Iraquis will be killed?

Figure what out? the dumb joke, or the genocide implications?
Iraquis will be here maybe longer than us. They have been described as roaches.

Hey Animal, don't worry. There may not be any Iraquis in Star Trek episodes, but the only blacks are killed off before the first commercial break- unless they're disabled and somewhat meek (like Gordy) so the white audience can accept them without being intimidated by virile black males.

Guess you never watched Deep Space Nine?
-
Good one, Iron. I guess Deep Space Nine was an interstellar "Projects". ;)
-
I think he was refering to the "original".
Anyone remember the episode where Kirk kisses Uhura? Roddenberry was a staunch lefty lib and tried to stretch the boundaries whenever possible. That was the first interacial kiss in network history.
-
Anyone see the In Living Color skit "The Wrath of Farakan" ?
Warp speed my Horny Asian borther!

Which reminds me of MadTV..... :D
Anyone else enjoy the "Ms. Swan" character? IMHO this is one of the funniest things on TV today.

I bet it wasn't Shatner's :) If it moved, he grooved -- black, green, light blue.... The stories are that he would enter the dressing room of whomever the current episode's eye candy happened to be and rather agressively attempt a "docking manuver." Being the 60s, he completed his manuver many times apparently.

I was thinking about Living Color too. I also wanted to include a comment on Kirk's appetite, but I couldn't think of a PC way to say it. ;)

William Shatner is a great musician and his cover of "Rocket Man" is the greatest Rock and Roll cover of all time...not to mention his Priceline commercials.

I don't know Elfenwolf, Nimoy's "proud Mary" is up there.
-
Shatner's "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" is my all time favorite.

That is the funniest thing I've read/heard today. Yesterday's winner was the Amazon.Com review of the Harry Potter vibrating broomstick.

Heard that joke 12 years ago...
...it was almost funny then.

I wish he'd open up an over-acting school, to cap his many accomplishments.
-
...who would you like to see cast as Captain James T. Kirk?
As Sulu?
As Uhura?
As Spock?
Aww...you get the idea!
