I frequently get this error, usually after quitting AH. I had DX8.0 and thought upgrading to the latest version would help...to no avail. If I try to restart AH after recieving this error, I get a runtime error and it says something like "application not properly terminated". Anyone have any clues? Running SD-11 mobo and AMD Athlon 700Mhz processor and GEFORCE AGP vid. ALSO, after crashing or getting shot down the screen (and computer) hangs. Anyone have these problems? Thanks,
Alex

What is the entire message of the Invalid Page Fault?
-
Nitro, the DDHELP error message usually comes from incorrectly installed video drivers. Incorrectly, in this sense, meaning, at some time some drivers were not removed before installing new ones.
That is usually what will cause this error message.

Here is the exact error. I also get it just as the patch installation starts to run.

This is the error I get the next time I try to run AH (without restarting after patch installation)

Runtime Error!

From what I understand, DX 8.1 can not be uninstalled. Hope I'm not screwed!

Nitro, try wiping out your video drivers and going to VGA mode drivers and see what happens.
If it works, then reinstall your video drivers.

Same here sice last set of patches, not problem at all before them and no problem at all with any other game. Graphic corruption or some sync faults and then the crash and the ddhelp message.

I get this exact error when I try to ALT-TAB AH down to minimize the game. When I go to maximize the window, I get this error and have to completely reboot the machine.
Was solved by not ALT-Tabbing anymore. :D Unfortunately, I know this was NOT a result of conflicting drivers cuz I've had just done a fresh install of the OS and had only put one set of drivers on the system. Who knows, computers suck anyway. ;)

I have this happen often. I just pull up the task manager then stop dhelp entry with end task. I have to restart the game again though.
