Great shot Eskimo! Thanks for sharing it.
A few years ago, near Dulles Airport near Washington, DC, I was at the recycling center when I heard the unmistakable rumble of large radial engines.
I looked up and coming at me at about 2,000 feet in formation were a B-17 and Heinkel 111.:D
After they passed, a father and son showed up and I excitedly told them, "A B-17 and Heinkel 111 just flew overhead!" They looked at me like I was some kind of nut. Well, maybe I am.:p

P.S. Looks like something we used to do with Zeppelins in Dawn of Aces!

Those two prolly belong to the CAF out of Arizona, I've seen them too.
The lead Goodyear blimp in the photo was just christened this week, and one of the other four is going to be decommisioned in a couple of weeks. They have been flying in formation all over the area for the past week, and its been all over the news. They said it's the first time that they have had four of them together in over four decades.
We live close to the Kent State airport. Whenever there is an airshow in the area we get a lot of rare birds flying around our home. I've seen B-17s fly by as many as 5 times in a day, they fly low enough to see a lot of detail. I just got back from work and my father in law said that he saw a B-25H fly by. 2 days ago we saw a C-47, with D-day stripes, fly over. They were both at the Kent State air show today.

P.S.
The girl in the photo is my daughter Svea, she just turned 3. My wife took the picture as I held her up.

someone selected "formation" when they took off.

They looked over-modeled to me. Nice shot, eskimo. Glad to see you four are alive and well, out east.

There was one that flew over Canberra sometimes at night a couple of years ago and glows in the dark. Looks like a cigar shaped "glowy" thing lol. Belongs to a chocolate company im told.
Sends all the people with chronic pysch disorder people nuts with Space ship calls flooding the 000 lines.
I think the poor buggers recieved a lot of complaints about it and the flights stopped over Canberra. :( Shame as it was pretty impressive and unusual in the skies at night.

They all flew over Ohio Stadium during the Ohio State game too.

Was driving from the high desert to the valley a while back (Cajon Pass for you westerners). I was at the top of the pass and just crested a small rise to begin my decent when I'm Face to Face with the Sanyo blimp! I swear this thing was 200yds away and eye level. It was obviously struggling to get through the pass (rises to almost 5k). Wierd sensation, coming home from a long day and getting HO'd by a blimp.

LOL,
Last year "Baa Baa Black Sheep" was on the History Channel all the time. She could call out a Zero or Corsair with pretty good accuracy. I'm sorry to report that we have'nt worked on AC ID much since then, however.
She knows all of the letters and sounds though.
