My daughter has to take it to prevent seizures.

I'm wondering why the idiot prescribed an anti-epileptic drug for depression?

and respirtal (anti-psychotic) for anxiety. Though I think I'm the bigger idiot for not getting a 2nd opinion first. Most of that toejam is out of my system now, but I still can't get to sleep at night, like right now.   At least I'm not having that constant panic attack though :)  Calling a new shrink tomorrow to get the 2nd opinion, though this experience has made me weary of the shrink profession.  Think I may just try living life sober for a while and do the church thing.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that my house of cards would come crashing down as fast as it did this week, but thank GOD that at least I can think straight now.

Maybe because he or she was prescribing it for bi-polar disorder, not depression, and he or she  knows that in addition to being effective for certain seizure disorders, depakote is approved for and considered a first-line drug for bipolar disorder.
