Title: Mindnao terrain height "bug"
Post by: poopster on September 08, 2002, 07:31:07 PM
Evvvvvvvvvvvverybody prolly knows this already. In the central area of the island, flying on the deck is not advised. I've only experienced this on the Mindnao map, nowhere else.

Augering when flying above the terrain is the result.  Thought it was a quirk the first few times, but today I was 50 feet above the deck ( running for my life :D ) and it happened again. The terrain isn't matched to the graphic representation in the central island.

Canyon fights come with a surprise..

Shame too, canyon fights are fun.

You and me both :D

Started noticing it quite a few rotations ago going back a couple of months. Only on that map and only in the middle area.

Probably happened to me 3 or 4 times over a couple of months in that terrain only. And only in that general location.

When it happens it's always following a contour up to a pass or "V" between higher terrain. If your runnin low, you suddenly find yourself looking at sheep, with no corsponding crash sound as if you auger.

Only on the Mindnao.
