Just noted that at http://www.foxnews.com
Alert status notched up some, details at 1PM EST
Hmm....
-
Does that mean we should expect a sudden barrage of oranges?
Seriously tho, I'd think this would be standard response to something where a lot of people will probably congregated en masse at a lot of memorials and stuff on the anniversary of an attack that happened only 1 year ago during a war that is far from over.
I'd advice you to be on uber paranoid cat like alert for the next couple of days, "just in case"...

kind of a 'no-brainer' eh ?
-
Apparently its because of some new information the Gov't has received.

An "anniversary attack" seems highly unlikely.

this 'warning' is kind of like disclaimers on product labels.
if sometheing does happen and the government hadn't put out a warning... oh baby .. open season on the government!
-
they're giving the 'forever war' another kick in it's side to get the herd all riled up. Wave those flags and hide in your bunker...nothing is going to happen.

Apparently this increased level of "Alert Status" is due to specific threats to overseas embassies.
My sister works armed security at a federal building here in Columbus. She called me because she got official word about the increased alert status, but they didn't give any more information. Because they are not permitted to have a radio or TV near by, she has to call me to get updates off the web.

I think the US Navy Aprehended an Al-Quada Orange off the East coast.

I thought so too. But - considering how the media presents is as a great idea, it would be very embarassing for us if they did it on 9/11 - seing as we are mobilised and alert and still fail to do anything to stop them.
Oh, yes - we can prevent them from blowing WTC, er, Ground Zero again during the ceremonies, and probably protect the nuclear stations and planes and military bases but what can you do about a highrise appartment or house basement that was stockpiled with tonns of fertiliser explosive abd/or gasoline and oxygen canisters over the last few months? Drop an appartment house or a residential block or an office building or few and it will hurt - just ask russians.
For that metter, just call in anonimous threat and/or blow flour from the some roof and watch us panic.
Any wonder that all those militant muslims are going to party on 9/11 next to large TVs. They may re-run the tapes of last year but I bet they will hope for some live footage as well...
Have they time to prepare surprise by this year aniversary? Guess we will learn tomorrow.
