First of all, I want to say how pleased I am with the attendance the past few snapshots.  Last week we went over 90 for the first time I've ever seen in a Snapshot (other than the one's that sometimes go in place of the TODs.)  I hope you keep enjoying them.  :)

Now, the question really arises from this renewed interest and attendance of the Snapshots.  It was our intention to run a race every 4 weeks once we decided to move away from Wild Wednesdays and go with Snapshots.  The last time we ran a race, several people were disappointed that we weren't doing a Snapshot and we only had about 13-15 people run the race when we were having 30-40 for Snapshots.  Now that we're hitting 70-90 for Snapshots, the race total given the earlier percentage would be around 20-30, not too bad for a race.  However, to me that's 50-60 people we've turned away from a successful event and something I don't want to see happen.

So instead of holding a race and seeing what happens, I wanted to ask those of you who read this board what you think about races vs snapshots during Wednesday nights.  Is it something you'd like to see once every 4 weeks?  Just once in awhile?  Never?

I'll ask again on Wednesday night before we roll for the Dunkirk action, but I wanted to get an early poll from the BBS readers first.

Also, are there any other events (40-60 minutes in duration) that you'd like to see on Wednesday nights?  Perhaps a one frame Axis vs Allied fight (much like the rumble, but on a smaller scale)?  A GV war?  Capture the base race? (two countries try to take the same neutral field)  Any other ideas?

Of course if the vast majority just want Snapshots on Wed nites, then we'll go with that.  We do these events for all of you, so I think you should have some input as to what we provide on Wed nites.  :)

Hi Jordi,

I personally have no interest in races. I would like to see more snapshots with an integrated Aircraft/GV/Gun component.

I'd love to see a snapshot version of Kursk for instance.

I miss Wild Wednesdays...:(

Snap Shots are always fun!  And sounds like we have some new design ideas to ponder... hmmm

I like the races, but not at the expense of a Snap Shot.

I am a firm believer that CMs and Events should be focused on Snapshots, TODs, CAP, Scenarios.

I have Zero intersest in anything like KOTH, Wild Wednedays, Air Races, GV Wars ect.

No offense to anybody else, thats just my preference.

Another idea would be to use snapshots as a testbed for future scenario's in order to test the scenario concept.  Use of a combined arms (i.e. aircraft, fleets, GV's) frame to help plan a future scenario perhaps...

We have not explored one of the more vexing situations of Air War and Grnd support.

The defense and attacking of a ground  convoy with Ack ack included in the convoy might make a interesting  evenings entertainment.  Ground forces of course would always outnumber the attackers and this might present a problem of personnel assignments in this sample of participants..

Suggest a first attempt with 70% grnd and 30% air. with air limited to small bombs and machineguns as was the case when flying off soft grass fields in much of the early days.. or countries..

i'm not sure about a gv V air snapshot.  I find GV's really boring myself, dunno about everyone else though.

Wednesday nights have always been the 327th Steel Talons squad night in the main arena.
HOWEVER,  Wednesday 9/11/02 we are going to try Snapshot - Dunkirk.

Following our first time there, we should have comments to post on our experience.

Just a clarification on the GVs.  More than likely we'll wait for more GVs to come around to have some more variety (and hopefully, GV modelling will be re-visited by HTC when they introduce more GVs.)

just imagine though, T-34s with Il-2s flying overhead going up against Panzers with Stukas overhead.  Of course some 109s and 190s and La-5s and Yaks going at it as well.  That'd be a fun event if we had the vehicles and the GV model was updated.

Thanks for the info.  We'll see what others say tonight before the early ETO goodness!  ;)

Also, if you like tonight's setup...  Fly in the CAP event on Saturday and get your persona for the branching campaign started!!

Eagle, we'd love to have you guys join the Snapshots as part of your squad night.  They usually run about 60 minutes at most, so your guys should still have time to enjoy some MA action before or after the event as well.  !

BigMax I miss WW too!! Snapshots all the way over the races. I would fly in a snap shot most every night if they was going on.

King of the Hill is this Friday night in the TOD slot!  Pretty much the same thing as WW  !
