Yech. ;)
Go fly a P-51 if that's what you want (besides, no Spit was silver during the war and that is a 1945 Spitfire Mk XIV, we've got a much more usable 1944 Spitfire Mk XIV).
-
I agree with furball. only paint it in war paint.
-
A bubble canopy Spitfire LF.Mk XVI would be good though. Would that satisfy you Spit/P-51 abomination lovers?
-
Clipped wings too please.:)
-
i didnt mean the paint scheme, i meant the clipped wing, bubble canopy low level spit XIV. this would be more suited to AH than current version because most dogfights happen at low level.

Yeah, I was surprised it didn't looked like that, shape wise.
With this characteristic shape, you can even loose the perk icon, and make it more enjoyable to fly in the MA.

Think we have to many spits already
-
too many spits? We need atleast one more, a 43/44 spit. A clipped wing spit LF XVI would fit the bill.:)
-
i love the pics ..here are some more..i dont think we have enough spits..
top is spit XIVE from a book
bottom is one i took a few weeks ago at Elvington spitXIX
neither has clipped wings but paint jobs are nice..
-
forgot to attach pics..:p

S! Selector!
Gosh! Its soo beautifull!
-
lovely pics, shame HTC didnt model the right XIV :)
-
Yep the bubble canopy XIV are the best.
What we really need is a Spit with Merlin 66 or 266. So common in the war but not represented here.
-
I hate to say it but...... it's a sweet bird :D .
-
For once, it is time to have a clipped wing Spit, regardless of arena balance, perked or unperked.
-
give me a saw i'll clip it myself:D
-
Is that a 5 bladed prop I see? Would that be authentic?
On another note (speaking of 5-bladed props), what about the Hawker Fury, if we ever get the 1946 arena? :)

As those are Spitfire Mk XIVs the 5 bladed prop is entirely appropriate. The nose of a Griffon Spitfire has a very distinctive look compared to a Merlin Spit's. Those are definately Griffon Spits.
A Spitfire MK XVI would have a 4 bladded prop.
