How were we supposed to win the war with leadership like that? Take that idiot [Minoru] Genda. He could barely fly, but he jumped up and down about the Shiden-kai ["George"], so everybody else pretended to like it, too. That plane was a piece of crap, put together by a third-rate firm [Kawanishi].

Saburo Sakai, gotta love the guy! :D

Though he said Ki-84 is better than N1K2 , I think he just hated Minoru Genda and his favorite toy. Because Saburo Sakai has lost a lot of buddies in 343ku. They died in N1K2.

Genda was quiet a man, his carier was most Impresive he realy put the Hurt on the US.

   As was of course Saburo Sakai , I read Samuri years ago , I should re read it.

Alot of people complain about the Niki but it seems to be tame these days. Not hard to handle at all and definately killable. I used to fear it but now I dont.

I still dont get into a TNB fight with it (never do that), wouldnt dare but I'll try to BNZ it. All Nikis must be gang banged and killed.

Just FYI, Pyro has said he really hates the nickname "Niki" for the N1K2.

Sure, its easy to type and say, but I just try to remember to say N1K2 or "Shiden Kai", out of deference to the man.  I really, really hope he likes the name "Hayate".

When i got into my first squad in AH and experenced RW for the first time with my new squad, I called out "George" on RW to ID the plane coming in, nobody knew what the heck I was talking about, eveuntaily they asked why are you calling that niki a George? Because shinden kai doesent role off the toung:) I asked why are you calling it a niki? Apearently In a former sim they had a N1K1 modeled and people in their ignorance asumed that the "I" was a i and their we go the name stuck.

I believe the reason Pyro doesn't like the N1K2 refered to as "Niki" is because he said it isn't a N1K1, its a N1K2, so don't call it a damn Niki since that referes to a different plan than I made.

Something like that anyway.

The niki is fine now, has been for a while so no.  However I will not let an opportunity in Niki bashing slip. :D
