What is this?
-
WEP= war emergency power, boosts engine power output past safe operating limits, shortens engine life
-
WEP stands for War Emergency Power. It allows you to add more power to your plane's engine for a limited amount of time. IIRC, the P-47 used a water injection system to accomplish this. Other planes had other methods.
In AH you press the "P" key to enable WEP. It will cause your engine to heat up. When your engine reaches critical temperature, WEP shuts down automatically to avoid seizure. You can also shut off WEP manually by again pressing the "P" key.

Oh cool, i could theoritically use it to help get that fat boat called the lancaster up faster right?
-
You could...except the lancaster isn't equipped with WEP.

WEP is usually only found in fighters, with some attack planes also having WEP but bombers don't have it. There are even some fighters that don't have WEP, not sure which ones but I think they're the Soviet planes.
