Title: Hostile Shores registration is open!
Post by: Wanker on March 19, 2001, 11:07:00 AM: Registration for Hostile Shores is now open. Please take the time to read the text on the registration screen, as it contains important information regarding the event as well as registration. After registering, you will get a confirmation screen containing your confirmation number. Please write this number down and keep it in a safe place. You will also get a confirmation email as well.

DISCLAIMER: The CM Staff retains the right to disqualify any registration that contains false, invalid or incomplete data. Please make sure you have every field filled out correctly before you hit the "register" button at the bottom.

There is an 8 person limit for each flight. If there are squads out there that will be registering more than 8 people, then the CO of that squad will have to register multiple times. For instance, if 308(Polish) sqdn RAF is going to register 15 pilots, then Funkedup, the squad CO, would register twice, in order to get everyone from his squad registered.

Registration will remain open until noon, EST Friday, March 23.

Please make sure you understand and agree to the statement about behavior on the registration page. A large scenario like Hostile Shores requires the cooperation of everyone involved to pull off successfully. It is not a free-for-all environment like the MA. Abuse of players or CM's, whether it be through foul language or continuous arguing, will not be tolerated during the running of Hostile Shores. Every participant of Hostile Shores is expected to be on their best behavior during the scenario.

No regestered user list
No...oops, just saw the Allied command staff post
No basic force info (I understand the force vaguity thing) at all
Only 3 days since initial announcement

All these things are making for a rough start from a participant end.
The squad group sign up is a great idea, but I doubt many squads have had time to coordinate.

BTW, did HTC provide accounts for the Cadets? I would hate to think they have to command without knowing the environment.

Registration is open for a week. If you can't get your squad organized in a week's time, I can't help you.

Yes, HTC has provided the cadets with accounts, and they have been flying AH for some time now.

Some of the information, like the setting of Hostile Shores, can only be withheld for so long, and everyone will know what planes they'll be flying shortly after registration. So, while a lot of the information won't be a secret for very long, we hope to keep each side in the dark about their enemy for as long as possible. If everyone keeps their mouth shut, it may be that in the first frame, nobody will really know what types of planes they will run into. Btw, we have a really, really evil idea brewing that HTC is trying to implement for us. If it works as planned, it could make for some very interesting kill claims. More on that later.

If you want to fly with your squad, please have your Squad CO register your squad members as a unit. It'll make putting flights togehter much easier. Thanks!

This is what I was refering to when I said 3 days was not enough notice.
Everyone is going to try to get a seat asap and if that means that they did not get to coordinate with their squad, then you are going to see us try to piece the squad together.
Additionaly, if we wait until Thur. to sign up, is there any reason to believe that we will all be able to get in the same squad?

FOR FUTURE REF.: Post notice at least 1 week in advance of the signup. Please.
I now know that 3 members of my squad are signed up, but under different choices.

Is there any way to combine individual requests now?

Yes. We are going to do everything we can to keep entire squads together if that's what they want, whether they register as individuals, or as a unit. But it does make it easier to do this if they sign up as a squad.

Sky, I agree. I would've given more notice if I felt I had the choice, but due to circumstances I'd rather not go into now, I had to act as soon as I could.

Can I go enter my squad as a group now and assume you will neggate the individual signups?

-edit- BTW, I also love this fog of war stuff, and one benefit of it was that it made registration easier. Instead of getting 8 guys opinions on what plane to fly, it was just Country & type. This is gonna be a blast!

Yesterday I registered solo due to ripsnort not being at work yesterday. I couldn't talk with him about what we had decided to do as a squad. My fault. Anyway, ripsnort registered us as a squad, to include myself. Is there anyway you can cancel my solo registeration so that I can be with the squad. If not, I quite understand. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I don't want to take a slot that someone else can have.
