ok ive been flying in every type of plane in AH and none get hurt by ack the way the 190 does.
In a 190F8 you are even more likely to get killed by ack it seems!.I thought the F8 w much tougher..more like the JUG etc but if ack pings you i GARENTEE you will either lose your tail or your engine.
PLEASE HTC check this out......
as I have stopped doing jabos because its like flying a paper plane!
even the 109 seems to survive hits better than the 190 and that CANT be right (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Hazed this gets a Masturbleat Stamp of Approval.
My tiffie is magnetized for ack. Bet you FW don't get hit on the edge of the ack range doing 480kias.
-
I flew the Tempest once. I got hit once. Bye bye radiator.

Don't think that's plane specific hazed. I've noticed the same thing in anything I jabo with.
The other night I was on and saw a parachute get pinged several times by ack before the cutist died. I couldn't help but think how funny it was that a parachutist could take more hits than an aircraft.

My Tiffy has Ack repellant.
I can still de-ack a field with no hit, workin outside ack 1st.
Dog out...
-
9 out of 10 times I loose vertical stab in the first ping of ack, flying the 190F8... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
Oddly, I don't loose engine or radiator so many times anymore.
-
Part of the problem Hazed is that you are trying to remove all the acks in 1 pass. Might want to admit that its just not prudent and resort to clearing them with 2 passes. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
And then the jabo dweebs like myself with resort to 10 passes...if we dont die after the first.

There is a method and a madness to being able to work your way into an Anti-Aircraft area and still accomplish your mission. You must be thinking at least 2 runs ahead in order to have any success at all. And it helps to have 2-3 other guys working with you since you all draw less fire that way.

what you talking about? 1 ping of ack in a p38 will rip both your wings, your tail booms and turn your cockpit into a bbq party.

Sorry Hazed got here late. You are a LW whiner etc... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Bahahaha. That little girly plane you Loosewaffles fly is no match for a Jug in the toughness department. Heck, my jug could carry those little FW's around like drop tanks under the wings. You can't expect that little POS to take fire and survive like the massive Jug can. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
On a more serious note, some of those anti-aircraft guns are pretty large caliber shells. If they hit you, they are going to do a crapload of damage to whatever they hit. The extra armor that the F8 has will protect it's pilot and systems more from smaller caliber stuff, but a big cannon shell is still going to blast you into confetti.

The first time I flew the F8 I jaboed a radar factory, I must have taken 8 pings and only lost the rudder and an airelon while de-acking the facility.
Since then I've died to the 1 hit-lose the stab kills Hazed describes.Lephturn is probably on the right track with the following comment.

I know from my time working in the AH terrain editor that field acks consist of single barrel 30mm, quad 20mm, single barrel 20mm, and 88mm AAA, the first two are guaranteed to ruin your day if they hit you.
<wait till you fly in a terrain with my field ack configuration> (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

1st ack hit (or gun hit of any type) in the Typhoon usually kills the engine.
In a Spit it's usually the entire rear fuselage, or a wing.
It's not just the 190. Get a grip. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Also if you've ever seen an F-8 and a P-47D up close, it's pretty bloody obvious why the Jug is tougher. The 190 is a child's toy by comparison.

ok so it is possible that i havent put in as much time on allied stuff as some of you guys but i assure you ive flown everything in every role i could think of.
Please dont patronise me by telling me to 'take 2 passes' etc...look if you guys cant hit a barn door it doesnt mean i have to fly like you (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
I can take down more than 1 ack in a single pass that is NOT what im talking about.
Also the calibre of weapon doesnt seem to matter as its hapened at small fields with smaller calibre weapons.
What im talking about is SINCE 1.06 and the 190f8 was introduced i thought 'great at last a LW jabo that can take more damage' after all it was a specialised ground attack version with extra armour.BUT what ive found is its even weaker,ok so i cant prove the damn figures, but ask others what they 'feel' and they will tell you its very 'weak feeling'.
before you start blasting me for trying to point out what i think may be a bug with the damage model please do some testing and give an honest opinion.I have taken all other planes on jabos to see if its all in my head but im more convinced than ever the 190 has some bug or other.(engine/tail everytime).
This is spoiling the game for me as i want to fly the 190f8 for jabo but im forced to use aircraft i dont want to use because the 190f8 isnt up to the job.
I have jabo'd in a p51 and have survived more hits than i have in the 190 and the p51 was well known for its vulnerability to ground fire.IM NOT ASKING FOR THIS TO BE CHANGED P51 FLYERS (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) what i want is my favourite type of aircraft to get at least the durability i seem to have in a notoriously vulnerable plane.
im going to test some more to be even more sure so as i say i cant be 'sure' but this is what it feels like to me.

Only plane I've managed to sustain Direct flack hits & survived was the P47 D30.
but then again, I die only when I go in ALONE on a field to deack...

Obviously some of you folks haven't seen Hazed in action (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) . It is definitely not an issue of his techniques or his ability to remove multiple acks from a field. He is one of the best. I think there was an expectation that the F8 would be a more robust platform than an A8 when it comes to Jabo type missions. This doesn't appear to be the case. I think the A8 is much more durable the F8. Although it will never replace the Jug in the durability category < sissy plane (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) >!

Guilty as charged (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
And it wasnt meant as a patronizing comment. It was meant as more of a compliment. Many of us remove 1 ack at a time maybe 2 if we're lucky.

In my (limited) experience the FW190F8 seems to be able to take about double the punishment from AAA that my usual choice for A->G operations, the Typhoon, can.
I shall play some more and see if it holds true over a longer period.

So, the damage model allows only engine at 100% or 0% functionality ?
Hmm, you might check Freebeerds (yes, I know).
These hackers came up with best damage model I have seen (IMO). Progressive damage, degraded engine performance, accumulated airframe stress.
So, why are hackers beter than the real thing ?
