Title: Slip n Skid
Post by: RoadfRash on March 19, 2001, 09:58:00 PM
Can we get the slip n skid gauge fixed in the P-51D, A8, F8, D9, P-47 etc. , in the P-51D the slip n skid is always left of center, so is the rudder really out of trim or is the plane in a constant slip or skid as the gauge suggest?

I don't have that problem... is it possible your rudder is a little out of trim (i.e. your pedal or stick controls?)?

My Saitek X-26 hangs up on left rudder... if I go right rudder it centers, otherwise a tad left.

Rudder is keyboard controlled, so center rudder is off then?

try this....

first after everytime you use rudder with keyboard you must re-center it with s even in between flifgts. if you get shoot down with rudder not centered the next sortie rudder will remain at the position it was at when were killed. If that dont help ya I dont know what will.   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Yeah I do all that Wo! I have even tried using shift x leveling the plane after centering rudder and it still show tweaked to the left its not a lot mind you a couple to three trims re-centers it, just mistifies me why it does this and leaves me wondering which way is the plane really trimmed true?
But thanks for the info and ideas are very welcome.

Shift X is an auto pilot setting.
The autopilot setting moves the flight controls to compensate for torque and speed.
Center your rudder every time you turn off the auto pilot.

BTW straight and level auto pilot is just x.
