Post by: JB42 on September 24, 2002, 03:05:05 PM: Anyone else tired of flyers who are constantly whining about being killed under "unfair" conditions? The old "ack runner", "gangbanger" and "runner" whines.

Hey, im not that great a pilot and when I run into a better pilot, you better believe I'm going to what I can to make sure he's dead. If your a lone wolf, you had better expect this to happen. The really good pilots needed to be ganged on. I'm not here to rollover to every guy that calls out to turn around or calls me an ack hugger.

Here's an idea, maybe the good pilots should try winging together. Oh, wait, there over-inflated egos wouldn't allow that.

Well anyway, my opinion is if you need to be killed in a dweeb manner, take it as a compliment. You have acheived a status that warrents your death by any means.

So....um....how do you figure you'll ever learn to be a great pilot if you let the ack or the gang take care of people who are better than you are?

I don't see how letting someone cut me up makes me better. If i need to ack hug or get help to extend my life, i will. If they are stupid enough to follow me, that's their problem. Just shut their traps about it.

Which is why you'll most likely not get better. You aren't going to learn how to beat a better stick by runnin away from him or draggin him to ack or friends. On the other hand, if you fight him you'll see his moves (especially if you film it and study it later) and learn to use them yourself.

All you learn when you kill a dweeb is that you already know how to kill a dweeb. To improve you have to challenge yourself and the only way to do that is fight someone better than you.

Having offered this as serious advice I await your snappy comeback :D

Germany had many great pilots, by wars end most was dead.

only because the allies were smart enough to realize they had to shoot them in their chutes so they couldn't reup.

I think as a rule the allies or the Germans didn't play that game... it was the US/UK bomber crews who had to bail over Germany after all. The allies had little to gain from shooting chutes.

Better training, good planes in large numbers and the destruction of the German Air force on the ground is what won the war.

It's more relaxed in there as far as channel 1 goes. And some good action too when it's balanced. Limited plane sets kinda balance out the dogfighting, and to me at least, the FM is different...more "boatlike" handling of the planes. Plus, the maps are cool.:)

Soooo, when you don't have the urge for the MA, check out the CT. I think you'll like it.

To the cause of most whining: Anybody who let himself get gang banged or caught by acks isn't that good pilot after all imho. Or maybe he is and just wanted to have some fun by taking the higher risks but that's his problem so he don't have to whine if I just hugged him into the acks or ran through a cloud of friends again.;) Everybody letting that happen unintentionaly should work on his SA.

BTW there actually is a way to get ack huggers by uhm killing the acks? Or just waiting above the field till the chased con comes out again? Maybe you could even prevent to get gang banged by keeping you friends in the near and monitoring these nice bars on the map constantly? Nah it's all the fault of the dweeb!:D

But then you'll just be really good at running to acks and some day you'll find yourself without any acks to run to.
