Retired WB pilots will remember =lem=. Crazy hair colored German that is one hell of a stick.
Has a website with ACM films and has been doing 3D max frames and skins.
He's stepped it up a notch with his latest creation.
Met him a couple years back at a WB con in North Carolina, nice guy, good people.
This is an example of his work. He's been doin some of the freelance stuff at WB. And each plane gets better..
And this just blows me away..

I met =lem= at the Raleigh-Durham WB Con as well poopster. Matter of fact =lem=, pcg3, epee and two guys from (I believe) Norway ended up having breakfast at a Waffle House. Between the brightly colored hair and his leather garb he really cause the locals to gawk!! I think it was his first time in the USA, and his first american style breakfast. I can only imagine how surreal it must have been for him! :-)
Old WBers will remember that he was the first outsider to design a plane for WB (the C-205)

I met =lem== at that NC 2000 con, and twice since at the WB Eurocons. In 2000, my 11 year old niece was dead impressed that I'd had dinner with a German man with pink hair, and had dyed her own ponytail pink. LOL - got sent home from school to get it washed out!
Here's Lem, looking slightly more conservative. Unfortunately, he did not react well to the anti red-eye flash feature of my camera.
He was telling me how he did his models, but not being an artist I did not understand! Especially after a few beers here.
Now where's that picture I took of poopster in the swimming pool...

Guess its time to pull up his flaming posts of the AH community eh?

Lem is a nice guy, he came and visited me a few years ago when he flew in my squadron in WB. He was a newbie back then and eager to train and improve and went on to be a good trainer. When he visited me he was first toying with 3D Max and showed me some of his early models which were very good. He's a talented modeller but can be a little obsessive sometimes hence some of his harsh critisism's of AH models. IMO he is being wasted by iEN as they have him remodeeling planes they already have (ie P51) and also got him to model the Mig15 for their Korean sim when there is so much to be done in Warbirds III.

Yeah Rip, he left a big ole turd layin around here somewhere....hehe
I guess WBs3 is really all that ;)
-
Well, I was in the process of bringing up lots of nice posts from him, but may as well let a sleeping dog lie...he's just blinded by loyality is all.

ahhhhhhh:(

I concur with Revvin. I do not judge people by the opinions they hold on different aspects of Flightsimdom. I always recall =Lem== (Thorsten) as a personable chap, always ready to help. That's my recollection of him. When I met him for the second and third times at the two WB Eurocons in Holland, he came up to me and it was as if he'd last seen me as day earlier - no need for any breaking of ice etc. Read my lips: I like people like that.
Thorsten and I are from different backgrounds and have very different lifestyles, some would say alien! I don't care what he thinks of the WB P39 model or the P51, or the AH P47. Is it really worth making enemies over issues like that?
It is fitting that the WB Eurocons have taken place in Holland, a tolerant society. At the last one, we had guys from 11 different countries. That's a good thing. Because we are all very different, but we accept those differences. I'm afraid that this philosophy is not universally embraced.

was dissapointed to find out the P51 model was 3dmax.. no wonder it looks so good.

People in person, aka Cons, always are different, more friendly, when they don't have a keyboard to hide behind. ;)
