Title: Navigating Around the Area

I'm new, at Aces High, at least. Have only been fooling around offline and have not gone online yet. I'm having trouble finding my way around the area. Is the map on the clipboard all that is available? I really don't recall how the surface and your location relative to cities, fields, etc. was handled in AW, but it seems it was easier to know precisely where you were. I went looking for a vehical base yesterday and circled the are a number of times
before I spotted it.

Look at the little white airplane on the clipboard to see what direction youre facing and there is also the compass

0° or 360° is north
90° is east
180° is south
270°is west

Not to mention use the Ins and Del keys to Zoom in and Zoom Out on the map.  This way, as you get closer to the intended target, you can zoom in on the map to see if you are off a little to the left or right.

You can also click and drag the map when zoomed in, to see different areas.
