P-61 Black Widow Please
Dearest HT Folks,
Greetings from Plano; Please consider modeling the Black Widow night fighter.
Despite it's role as a nightfighter, it was one of the most heavily armed aircraft of the war and included advanced control features such as spoilerons. Perhaps modeling it accurately and with all of it's actual features would be too complex a task, but as one test pilot for Northrop quipped: "She is one very fast and very maneuverable hot-shit aircraft".
Those interested in more info on the BW can visit http://home.att.net/~jbaugher1/p61.html
A basic website that offers info on all the variants of the aircraft, including performance charts, weapon loads, etc.
Thanks,
MadThor

Northrop finished the Y-61 and YX-61 program in 1944, and P-61A's entered service as operational night fighters in both european and pacific theaters.
Experienced P-38 pilots were used for initial training squadrons. Many of those Lightning pilots gave the Black Widow higher marks for speed and agility than the smaller P-38.

No, actually I think it was a ground vehicle. Saw action in North Africa against Rommel :D
