Title: wlxx.pwl files...
Post by: Gypsy Baron on September 27, 2002, 12:12:07 AM
I was just looking through my Aces High\settings folder
and noticed a large number of 1k sized .pwl files with
dates scattered all over the place. They seem to be created
at each login to the online arenas. The file name is
wlxx.pwl with the xx = a numeric value.

Are the older files necessary or can I delete all of them
other than the most recent one?
At the moment there are 67 of these 1k files in the
directory and I'm trying to clean up various directories
on my system.

It's not the disk space so much as it is the growing clutter
effect such things have. Plus, the space used is probably
4 times that amount, assuming a cluster size of 4K on the
hard drive.

I ran scandisk on my C: drive the other day and it went
through over 90,000 files on that drive alone!! And I have
5 logical drives total on this system.

I just object to keeping no-longer-needed files on my
system out of principal :)
