Title: HTC: Any new Terrains otw?

Okay we've had the pizza AK Terrain awhile ago and what great fun it is too.... But are there any plans to introduce additional larger (512x512) MA terrains soon? (2 weeks? ;) )

Just thought I'd ask, I'm absolutely sick to death of Mindanao (I usually log) :o

Yes, a reworked 512x512 version of the original Beta terrain is in the works.  Don't know when.  I think NB of the Damned is working on it.

BTW, any chance that we'll see your SFTERR again? (the one with A1 in the centre of the map).  Would be nice to see that in rotation.

How about a rework of the pizza map to a more european style of ground cover??  It would be a new "flavor" of pizza! YUM!!!

can someone post a pic of this beta map? I always hear how great it was in design, never seen it  :(

I'll try and find a pic of the beta map.  It wasn't a fantastic map as in complex, but more of a simplistic map.  The original beta map had several high bases and the rest at sea level.  The countries were partitioned into three countries which a mountain range with canyons seperating the fields.  The high bases were furthest most from the canyons.  The latter style beta map introduced vehicle bases within the canyons with loads of spawn points which made it great fun.  

Overall the terrain was very small, not many fields (8 or 9 a side?), very basic is appearance, but VERY playable! :)  However, I'd sooner see the SFTERR but I'm not over fussy!

Load up AH offline and set yer terrain to beta.res
That's the orginal beta map

those were the days....

Nice shot of the coming 512x512 remake of the beta map... not quite what I was expecting, but looks like it'll be interesting to play.

Yup beta map, those were the days, and what a lovley map it was!

New beta map looks great, like caveman said, not quite what I expected but looks great :)
