Bozon (sry if spelled wrong - got a very short memory) did some interesting tests with our beloved anti-grav Niki!
Thread is called "Fightin that D*mn N1k.."

Do that same thing with something like a 109G-10 or an LA7 or Spit 14. In the LA7 especially you can climb even steeper than you can with a N1K.
The difference is the N1K is a lot easier to control at that speed; you don't have to fight it as much. With the Spit 14 especially it's hard to keep the torque from spinning the plane.

dont turn my post into a niki flame.
my point was that the N1K (as well as the spit v) has the ability to fly real slow with the nose pointed VERY high up, while being controlable.
therefor, in order to prevent it from following you up (or just sending those 4*20mm up after you) you have to make him pull his nose even steeper.
if you zoom diagonaly and not straight up he'll hang in there and spray you.
I dont know how this referes to reality. I was talking about the game.
